Explaining Kirin

Sasuke needed the Kirin to be of natural lighting against Itachi. Against naruto and friends, it could have been effective synthetically.

Crazy he never used it against rinnegan users, the lightning is natural so it shouldn't be able to be absorbed

Don't forget Amaterasu contributed to it too.

Actually it is fair to judge the power of this just based on the opponents..

Reason being given the limited conditions and power this jutsu requires in order to perform its not something u would just use on anyone for obvious reasons

My point is this sasukes kirin is only as powerful as the person he is fighting

Infact they are all pretty equal in power when u think about it

APART FROM THAT It really dosnt matter because the next apponent is just as strong as they are

Kirin is a dragon

The Kirin used against Naruto was smaller than the one against Itachi. It also seems Sasuke put less power into it.

Still though Naruto tanked it. But it clearly hurt him.

I wonder what would happen if Sasuke enhanced kirin with Amaturasu and his own Chakra.

Itachi's susanoo was destroyed by kirin. His coat was destroyed by the blast which means susanoo tanked enough to not harm itachi much

This was the coolest technique I’ve ever witnessed in Naruto. Late Naruto and Boruto fights never do clever things like this anymore.

so this was a filler episode, so it isn't canon, but in an episode(somewhere around 156 of part 1) there is raiga, one of the seven shinobi swordsmen of the mist, and his swords allow him to use lightning change in chakra nature but later there is a thunderstorm and raiga starts using actual lightning, and it is stated that because it was real lightning it was significantly more powerful than lightning made with chakra, so that makes kirin a whole lot stronger

My biggest question has always been how is sasuke able to manipulate the lightning to hit a specific target, let alone into a complex shape? I have 2 guesses-
1. Sasuke creates a tether, using his chidori, to the thunderstorm/lightning which is what allows him to aim the lightning. The lightning taking on a complex shape could just be for theatrical effect from kishimoto and it might not even actually look like a kirin, just a bolt of lightning.
Or 2. Due to saturating the atmosphere in his chakra, through use of his fire jutsu, sasuke is able to direct and shape the attack

Does this method of “making lightning happen and then shooting it” count this as A type of nature chakra? Sorta like the truth seeker orbs?

Theoretically there could be three or even four different ways Sasuke could create thunder clouds for this jutsu depending on how we would do it in real life (without energy or how we would create such circumstances being a factor) for example characters in Naruto good theoretically create a natural tornado just by mixing air currents from any two wind release abilities ability but then again I could be wrong because I don't know how else you would create a thundercloud 💀
I also don't know if Sasuke has jutsu capable of producing Storm clouds in any other way but I doubt that will be the thing keeping him from creating a cumulonimbus Heck he could make his own cloud from scratch if he wanted to lol probably cost of chakra

Maybe sasuke is able to use it without a thunder cloud and he is just able to ignore the chakra usage with a thunder cloud

Perhaps it could be possible to one day see sarada use the kirin

I'd assume he makes the second way for kirin the same way that like TobiRama uses water style without water except for in this case lightning style without lightning and it's all less powerful version because it has to draw on with artificial lightning AKA chakra

My only question is , do the artist who create naruto learn all these scientific facts about how the powers work before or after they create the show. ? because usually artist aren’t smart and don’t know all those little facts about the universe and how it works tbh lol

Scandinavian culture has a creature called a lindtworm Wich a serpent with front arms and claws but none on there backside, kirin is most likely based of of something Chinese because dragons were attuned to different aspects of nature like lighting the sea and wind where's the lindtworm is the only thing I can find that is similar, is associated with old stories of kings, good luck and eating corpses from graveyards and hanging around churches

its kinda whack that theyve made a distinction between chakra created elements vs natural ones at the end of naruto. kinda takes away from the magic

Kirin should be Sasukes first line of offence on the Otsusuki, it's natural lighting, they wouldn't be able to absorb it

shouldnt the guys in boruto not be able to absorb kirin since theyre natural?
