Hi Jocelyn, I have a question I'm not sure if it's related to your topic. I would really appreciate if you can answer it or anyone watching your channel. My fiancée was required to have sputum test, the staff at slec told her that they'll take care of the interview cancelation, she has a minor son in the application but they didnt require him for sputum, after the 8 weeks waiting she was cleared of her medical, sputum is negative. When she was about to reschedule their interview the system won't take her son's visa fee receipt number, she learned that her son is a no show in their scheduled interview. When the slec staff told her that they will cancel her interview she thought her son as well since they are in one application and one case number. It's really disappointing and frustrating 😢

I found that Jocelyn has highly accurate info about the K1 visa processing and I think she is generally talking about regulations for foreigners entering the Philippines. I use her info regularly and she is the best English speaking source of info from the Philippines (in my book). My fiancee just passed her interview for the K1 visa. Good. But what nobody talks about is the HARDSHIP and the expense. It only seems fairly straightforward, in reality it is not. If your fiancee lives distant from the US embassy (let's say in Nueva Vizcaya) she needs to travel, stay in hotels etc. Still no problem, right? And then enter the medical exam. Travel to Manila, 7 hours one way, stay in hotel. Hours and hours in line at St. Luke, starting to line up at 4 a.m. finding out she has to undergo the sputum test. Again, travel to Manila, stay in Hotel, line up at 4 a.m. Waiting 2 months, cancel and postpone the Consular interview. Travel to Manila again, stay in Hotel, line up again, just to receive the result. (They will call if the result is positive, at which point, I think the visa applicant is done..meaning no visa for health reasons) So, the result is negative. But for good measure my fiancee gets 4 vaccines..2 in one arm, 2 in the other, now she can reschedule the interview. (and pay the fee AGAIN!!!!) So here is the interview, travel to Manila again, like a yoyo, hotel again, the arm that received 2 vaccines swells and fever sets in, line up by or inside the embassy for more than 4 hours, NO FOOD NO WATER ALLOWED! finally she passed the interview but they spelled her name wrong! Imagine that the letter to the interview has the name misspelled...so she has to go to a lawyer, make affidavit, PAY the lawyer (it was the US embassy that screwed up) and go back to embassy for the correction. Then she is told that LBC, the carrier the Embassy uses to get the passport to the owner, has no service in Nueva Vizcaya. So she will get notified, and guess what has to go to Manila again...bus ride 7 hours one way..hotel again...to receive the stamped passport plus papers. This is the REALITY, Jocelyn!

This question is about when we can file DS-160 for k1 fiance visa.

We received email from NVC - The National Visa Center (NVC) received your fiancé (e)’s/spouse’s approved I-129F petition from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). NVC will now forward the petition to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate in Mumbai (Bombay), India. Please note that the transfer process can take several weeks. The U.S. Embassy or Consulate will contact your fiancé (e)/spouse when they are ready to process his or her petition. In that email they are clearly saying that U.S. Embassy will contact your fiance when they are ready to process his or her petition.
I also checked the CEAC website. It's showing our case is READY, but that also says - please wait until you have been notified of your interview appointment.

CEAC websight shows following -
Your case is ready for your interview when scheduled at the U.S. Consular section. If you have already scheduled an appointment for an interview, please prepare your documents as directed in your appointment letter and appear at the consulate on the appointed date and time. Otherwise, please wait until you have been notified of your interview appointment.
We not yet heard anything from US Embassy. So my question is when we file our DS-160? We should wait for communication from US Embassy before we file DS-160 right?

K1 Visa, a lawyer never. Filipino Visa never. It's been over 9 months and nothing. Homeland security, ISCIS southern California, forget it. I even got an approval from President Biden, USCIS nothing, this entire process puts a lot of stress on the couple. Do it illegally.... My mood is obvious....

For the first question, "Do you need to hire a lawyer?" . . . I see so many people who didn't hire a lawyer insulting those who DID and insinuating that they are stupid. Meanwhile, I've seen people get denied for arbitrary stuff like having a car accident way in the past, or something else you would have never thought off. The truth is, the denial rate for K-1s are 40%. If you hire a great lawyer like I did, they WILL NOT send your packet out unless they are sure it will be approved. Get a damn lawyer.
