General Grievous is still one of the coolest duelists in Star Wars and this is one of the best fight scenes in any trilogy

the saber part of this fight is so shit and the clone wars makes this encounter make zero sense

Obi Wan simply let his ability with the force guide him. Nothing more. Nothing less. Except for maybe his dry smart ass attitude that showed itself very rarely

why didnt ben just force push him away, instead of waiting, oh wait, not dramatic enough

I absolutely hate scenes where the hero stands around and waits for the villian to get done monologuing when they could easily take them down

This could have been one of the best lightsaber duels in the saga but they ruined it, I expected more from this battle when I saw it in the cinema, especially after how intimidating Griebous is in the clone wars.

Bad guys should learn. You don't want Kenobi hanging off a ledge. Come to think of it, you don't want him having the high ground either. Maybe they should just not fight Kenobi.

Well that's just dumb. It was dumb in the theatres and it's dumb again on YT. Kenobi picks him up and throws him, why doesn't he just keep doing that? Once against the ceiling, again against all the droid soldiers. Roger-roger, BASH. Whirl him around like a rock on a string, BASHBASHBASH. Bones and droidekas all go flying over the edge of the platform. All of this fight scene is solely for the purpose of an action sequence and disregards even a little bit of tactical thinking from what is ostensibly a tactically very competent fighter.

Plot holes are a pain, dumb plot holes are a dumb pain.

To be honest, I really don't get the point behind the hand-to-hand part.

On one hand, Obi-Wan had fucking Force Powers. Nothing would have stopped him from simply stopping Grievous right there, then doing all sorts of nasty things to him. Like shooting him just like he did in the scene, but with less sweat broken. Like Grievous is just a cyborg. Imagine some non-Force User with lightsabers trying to kill Starkiller? And what the latter would do to them even with his lightsaber(s) off?

On the other hand, Grievous is a cyborg, with metal parts making up most of his body. The fact that he repeatedly punches Kenobi with little to no effect on him is rather weird. This is something I never understood about fighting cyborgs in general: at the intensity and speed of strikes they deliver, they should rip human flesh apart and literally impale humans with their metal limbs. Like imagine your naked body being struck by a metal rod at full force. Imagined your bones snapping and/or your internals exploding? Now imagine something EVEN STRONGER than that. This simple fact completely ruins my immersion every time I see a human fighting a cyborg, where the cyborg isn't a death machine requiring extreme agility and tactics to get around and win, but a slightly beefed up, regular otherwise, fighter.

Disney has permanently killed and ruined Star Wars (along with everything else their woke hands touch)
