Im imagining that most of these whiskeys have hints of unkempt, mildewed beard
ОтветитьHow pleasant it is to listen to you guys talking about alcohol. Cheers from Germany!
ОтветитьI live in Ireland so any whiskey, Irish or otherwise, seems to cost a lot these days, at least compared to most other places. I'm sure you can get Powers cheaper in the US than you can in Ireland.
ОтветитьJust picked up a bottle of the Highland Park 12 today and man, i love so much, but I realized that it was a really really long time that I had a bottle of the Highland Park 12
ОтветитьMonkey shoulder was my first and is always on my shelf.
ОтветитьI'm looking for a butterscotch bourbon what do you recommend?
ОтветитьWhere the hell do you get Buffaloe Trace for 20s?
ОтветитьLove a lot of these but that highland park was super not for me. Wish I knew enough to understand why that is.
ОтветитьI miss the days of when most of those prices were accurate 😂
ОтветитьDrinking Monkey Shoulder right after a Laphroaig 10. Its a taste ive never seen before in there
ОтветитьWhat about upgrade this one?
ОтветитьThat Glenfarclas is my go to right now
ОтветитьI've come back to this video 3 times now. It's such an excellent video for beginner-intermediate whiskey drinkers. You brought just the perfect amount of background information with each whiskey. Well done
ОтветитьNot sure why but tried monkey shoulder and it tasted like vomit. Some others i tried and really liked were michter rye and larceny.
ОтветитьAmerican has been my favorite followed by four roses single and Longbranch.
ОтветитьFunny, as I'm watching this in April 14 2023 I realized I purchased a bottle of Laphroaig 10 at Costco 6 years ago (2017) for about $36.00, today at the liquor store it was $65.00, every whiskey review I watch that was done pre-covid has gone way up!
ОтветитьBucanna
ОтветитьI bought Laphroaig 10 for around 85 usd in my country : )
ОтветитьHere in France, bottles that punch way above their weight class;
1 - writers tears - 37€ - guaranteed woas - let it rest for a few weeks after opening it.
2 - Laphroiag 10y 35€ - there is just no competition at this price range for peated -
3.- Nikka Cofee Grain 39€
4 - Glenmorangie 10y sherry cask 45€
5 the lidl exclusive ben bracken soeyside single malt Wisky at 27€ is nearly impossible to beat.
6 - Bushmills 10years 35€
7 - Evade (french wisky) 40€
8 - caol ila 39€ - would rank higher if laphroiag wasnt so damn cheap
I would have considered more bottled under €30 but frankly for just a few more euros you get significantly better wisky
Great job, as always. I’d love to see annual update videos on this crowdsourced list, as prices and availability change from year to year and distilleries continue to add new entries in the budget(-ish) category.
ОтветитьAs far as Jameson goes, I suggest paying a little bit more and getting the Jameson black barrel. It is so worth it.
ОтветитьI know I’m a little late to the party but I ran out and bought the Michters tonight ! Feb 2023 it’s $50 I’m in Missouri
ОтветитьLaphroaig 10 smells like mink oil boot waterproofing. Like Lapsang Souchong tea. Like fresh creosote. Bleag...
ОтветитьWild Turkey 101 best bourbon for the price
ОтветитьWhat do yall think about Seagram's VO?
ОтветитьHow do you keep track of where everything is with so many bottles?
ОтветитьWell hell! Gonna go get a bottle of Michter's today. Did the 3 year requirement for scotch change from 2 years? Seems I remember going to a Johnny Walker tasting in Denver where the Walker rep stated the requirement was two years. That was over a decade ago but I've been telling that to all who would listen. So the bottom shelf of Highlands Mist was filtered through a dirty sock and then aged for 3 years and not 2?
ОтветитьTime for an updated video...
ОтветитьBy the Title… it’s gotta be fireball!
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Monkey shoulder translates to $60~$70 USD from my country so even though i like the Monkey shoulder, way overpriced and rather grab Jameson for 30
ОтветитьAnd now you can’t touch Buffalo Trace for less then $45 in Arkansas. Some store even have it up to $80. Colonial wine and spirits the biggest price gouges in the state
ОтветитьMonkey is a blend, and all 3 of the distilleries used sell their individual Scotches for $40+ a bttl. Monkey is deliciously malty. Four Roses Single Barrel at 100 proof, and so many different combos of their recipes, and all are great. Very good bourbon. Good calls.
Ответитьjust head to totalwine and bought one monkey shoulder....amazing for the price.
ОтветитьOlder Highland Park is fabulous...
ОтветитьI'm in the UK and here I can often get Monkey Shoulder and Bulleit on sale for £22 a bottle (about $26). Both great options at that price.
ОтветитьHonestly, Laphroaig 10 to me tastes like a campfire someone lit with zippo fluid
ОтветитьYes of course, “warehouse number KE” lol
Ответитьyou guys should do a 2022/2023 version of this!!
ОтветитьNo Lagavulin 16????!!!
ОтветитьWas that the monkey shoulder whiskey or scotch. Thanks
ОтветитьIt’s crazy how prices have gone up since this vid was made. Prices in 2022 2-3 times more than what was quoted in 2017. An updated version of this vid would be nice
Ответитьdamn, in pa most of those are 40 or above
ОтветитьMonkey Shoulder is garbage. They sell you on the monkey icon on it.
ОтветитьHuge fan of Monkey Shoulder.
ОтветитьMonkey shoulder is something I tried first yesterday; it’s really nice, and it’s the the first thing I’ve been able to win my game of chicken with(I usually follow a drink with food or nicotine to cut off the burn when I breath), but monkey shoulder has been pleasant. It’s a little too mild, but I’ve only gone up to cask strength once, and I’m not used to the alcohol enough to savor some of the whiskeys I’ve tried. Monkey shoulder has been a nice change of pace to be able to really taste it, but I feel like it’s lacking a little bit of depth. I feel like I’ll like the ryes or Smokey ones more, but I’m not ready for nest pours, and don’t want to wast my strict budget on diluting the new ones. So, monkey shoulder was a nice fit for where I’m at
ОтветитьStarted drinking whisky recently, but I don't know if it is a good idea to drink a whole bottle before buying a new one (different one)? Probably best to a have several bottles and to be able to compare and appreciate the different flavors, aromas, notes, etc... just about to finish a Bowmore 12 which I really like.
ОтветитьIf Lagavulin 16 is already my favorite whiskey, is Monkey Shoulder just going to be a downgrade? I've never tried it, but you guys seem to give it the highest of praise.
ОтветитьMonkey shoulder have became really expensive
ОтветитьI could not agree more. Not a big drinker but whenever I do, I drink whiskey on the rocks. My 3 whiskey are always Monkey Shoulder, Highland Park 12 and Jameson. Gonna stick to it now!
ОтветитьYou guys have inspired me. Went out to my local whiskey spot. Had a midleton very rare 2016, red breast 15, bushmillls 21, Glenfarclas 25, yellow spot, red spot, and a Jameson 18. Loved them all. Then oddly had an Appleton 12 and Ron Zacapa 23 rums. Lovely too.
