I was arguing with my husband on this song, we listened to this when we were younger, and now we're in our 30's... for sure we sing it based on how it sounded instead of knowing the lyrics.

As a kid, so many years ago,I swear that the word "bunch" sounded like "punch". Especially with that bit involving the hands in Beetlejuice.

Some of these lyrics are wrong. For example it's 6 hand 7 hand 8 hand bunch. It's "me wanna go home".

This song is a terrible reminder of how slavery continued during the 19 century...a sorrowfull description of working conditions for Black people in the caribbean. 😢
