Honestly BA looked after me after a BA flight was cancelled due to a plane fault. Qantas left me high and dry and wanted me to pay $7500 for tickets home to Australia. Because I didn’t make the connection flight and wouldn’t budge. I called British airways and they flew me home and didn’t ask for a cent ❤
ОтветитьGreat review!
ОтветитьMeanwhile, here in the UK the fight has only just begun. The changes to the BA executive club have been brutal. Many of us who have been loyal over the years, have now decided to move on. Next April I will lose my silver status as a result of the new “club” changes. I’m sorry but paying £7500 pp ($10000) to achieve silver status is just crazy. The BA forum is awash with disgruntled members who are shifting their loyalty elsewhere. I’ll use up my stash of avios for long haul until it runs out then fly LCC’s in the future.
ОтветитьThe best business class.
ОтветитьHad to laugh when you said “I don’t want this to end”. I feel the same way when flying first class ….I usually only book first class when flying long distance, just because it lasts longer..lol
ОтветитьThe Qantas F & J, and Qatar lounges are just around the corner too, so there were plenty of pretty decent lounge hopping for you to have indulged in as well!
The SIN Concorde Lounge used to be very dark like a dungeon, and the F&B was pretty much the same as the main BA J lounge apart from better Champagne. Still not sure I'd want to spend five+ hours in the newly refurbed one, but it is far better decor now, as well as improved F&B.
It's VERY common for crew to forget to, or not properly unlock the sliding doors between takeoff & landing, probably because a significant majority of BA F cabins don't have those doors.
I’m not a bitter BA Gold/Silver status holder worried about the recent changes, so I guess I can be fairly objective about BA. They’re not perfect, and they have their faults, but on the whole, they’re a good airline. Way better than the likes of American Airlines and Iberia. Really good, balanced review.
ОтветитьYou can’t close the doors until the Pilot unlocks them.
ОтветитьI love your videos lately! They're so relaxing and funny, keep up the great work!
ОтветитьI suppose the fact that you equated BA First with Delta One (business class) makes the point that BA isn't as premium as it used to be. They charge a lot more for 1st but, I guess fall short of the best of the best (Emirates, Etihad, Singapore to name a few). First world problems, but that's where I think they are as an airline. Good, but not the best.
ОтветитьAdvertorial.
ОтветитьWas there only one meal service?
But that aside it made a change to see a positive report on BA many are not so favourable perhaps they are turning the corner but penny pinching has really had a adverse effect on their reputation .
If you can't afford designer bags and feel a certain way about expensive designer bags, then don't watch this video. Like do you read a video title before clicking on it? The title makes it clear that the video will be about designer bags. I find these types of videos very helpful and although I can't afford these bags yet, I know one day I will. I wanted to know which designer bag was truly worth my hard-earned money and one that I would get the most out of. That being said, if you're reading this, thank you for sharing this video with us and please make more videos like this. Maybe kisluxs is your next choice?
ОтветитьIt's interesting that you compared it to Delta One, which is a business class product. The Delta One lounge at JFK T4 is excellent, certainly better than BA's business lounges, and almost as good as BA's Concorde Lounge (not as good though, and obviously Delta's lounge was far, far busier being a business lounge rather than first). I think your comment hit the nail on the head (tangentially). BA's First is probably the best business class product, which is unfortunate as it's supposed to be a first-class product, and that's the issue. It's probably the cheapest first-class product and only just better than the best business class products whilst being probably the worst first-class product.
Ответитьyour accent constantly switching between british and aussie is so funny
ОтветитьKeep your shoes on until after take off, you'll want them if there is an evacuation!
ОтветитьGreat video ! BA F, with a good crew, is excellent. Flying F LHR-MIA in two days and cannot wait !
ОтветитьI work at the MCG and I saw you today, but it was too late to say hello. I was at the security gate and you had already entered. So......hello. I hope you enjoyed the game!
ОтветитьThought you would have at least got a decent main like a steak or beef fillet for goodness sake, what a joke
ОтветитьWhat type of plane were you on .
ОтветитьHow can BA fly from Singapore to Oz?
ОтветитьThe service and everything about the BA Concord Lounges may indeed be excellent but to expect the same level of service and choice of food once onboard has left many British Airways first class passengers feeling rather let down or disappointed.
The flight looked like it could have been any long haul business flight with any of the top airlines but with Johnnie Walker blue label and a slightly more expensive champagne, also just like their Economy Class it is not uncommon in BA first for them to run out of your first choice of food.
I always choose the QF F lounge in SIN over the BA lounge. I love the Sofitel staff there. My last experience: I was flying on BA15 LHR to SYD. I was stressed as I didn't know how much time I had. The kind lady, seeing my anxious look, asked me which flight I was on. She got me a glass of champagne and told me to relax and she would tell me when I had to leave to go to the gate. It instantly took all the pressure off and I was able to enjoy my visit without stress. Love.
ОтветитьI thought BA had the 787s on that route at this time of year
ОтветитьWe've been lucky enough to fly F with BA on several trips to the US since 2022 - JFK, EWR & SEA. Other trips have been in J. I have to say we've had only good experiences of lounges, seat comfort and crew service. Some flights have had better food and more attentive service than others (out from LHR always good, night flights home not so), but overall there's really been little to moan about. Until BA lets us down we'll continue to enjoy the product and service. Great to watch your review Stefan - perhaps as we get older a little humility can make us enjoy the moment just that bit better!
Ответитьreally enjoyed your presentation and review style. I'd argue much better than most other aviation reviewers 👍
ОтветитьBA F is "the world's best business class".
ОтветитьReally enjoyed the music as you landed in Sydney. A little Waltzing Matilda vibe. Very, very well produced video. Subscribed.
ОтветитьWhy didn’t you just ask the crew how to shut the door? They bought your meals.. just ask then?
ОтветитьThe problem with BA is their terrible IT. The app and website are much too glitchy and their Avios miles are impossible to redeem. So no thank you.
ОтветитьNice but I no longer fly BA after it's poor treatment of staff after COVID ... Poor services and huge charges for reserving seats in every class apart from First, on my regular flights to Singapore SIA or QR much better value and service 👍
ОтветитьThat look epic. I wish I could go to Sydney in style like that.
ОтветитьDo they no longer give you pyjamas in First Class?
ОтветитьBA = BAD airline. We flew on BA from Boston to London in business class several years ago. When we got on the plane, my wife noticed a HORRIBLE smell at her seat. It turned out that the passenger who had last sat in the seat had vomited several times during the flight. When my wife told the flight attendant that she wanted to be reseated, the flight attendant told her that the seat had been cleaned "as best as possible" and that there were no other business class seats available. The only options my wife was given were to sit in the vomit seat or rebook on another flight. We rebooked and left Boston 4 hours later. BA offered no compensation nor did they offer an apology. Once in London, we cancelled our return flight to Boston and we booked our return flight on Virgin.
ОтветитьBA are the ultimate hot and cold carrier .. I’ve flown with them at least 100 times since the BOAC/BEA days & will always choose an alternative airline now , if possible.. BA still CAN be great , as your first class experience showed , but they’re usually overpriced in all cabins , and at best good maybe only 50% of the time . Add to that their appalling and totally uncaring customer service , and you’ve got something worth avoiding .. I also had enough of them maybe 6 years ago .. bye bye BA.. don’t miss you at all .. 🤨🤨
ОтветитьA virgin Bloody Mary…so V-8?
ОтветитьBoth the Qantas and BA symbols did carry a lot of respect but like so many things standards have declined. What I always find amusing are the exacting standards cabin crew go through to get the job , yet many are not suited at all.
ОтветитьDude, never ever put water from the lavatories in your mouth on an airplane!! Full of chemicals, dirty water tanks, etc. Reason why aircrews never do that! Brush your teeth in water from a bottle......
ОтветитьFor a non drinker, you had quite a few champagne glasses...
ОтветитьThat was such a long time to spend in the BA lounge, even if you had access to Concorde Dining. I would’ve visited the Qantas First and Qatar Premium lounges as well, given you could’ve accessed them with your BA first class ticket.
ОтветитьThe crew should have unlocked the sliding doors for you once the flight was in cruise.
ОтветитьUntil now I have always taken every flight with British Airways. That’s about 10 economy short haul, 6 business/club flights and 2 or 3 BA first long haul a year. This has kept me as a Gold Card holder for the past 10+ years. But no longer. The new system does not reward my loyalty in anything like the same way. So I’m now flying whoever is best for that segment. Bye bye BA it was good whilst it lasted.
ОтветитьBA are an awful airline, their customer service is terrible.
ОтветитьMy dad was diagnosed with cancer and had to cancel a trip he booked on BA first class in order to do his chemo. They refunded $300 of his $6000 ticket. I’ll never fly them in my life.
Edit: he cancelled more than 6 months in advance of his departure date.
I flew from Heathrow to Sing return, last year. Now, it was economy, but i paid for emergency access seats so i had more legroom than i needed. That was the good part. The rest of the 13 hours was a sumpremely miserable experience. The seats were so narrow that i couldnt even get the ents control out. The ents screen was just terrible. I simply didnt bother with it , there or back. The stewards.esses we just so average. The food was abominable and the flight was delayed for two and a half hours at Heathrow...we were boarded without the air con being fixed. Over an hour and a half of tropical weather inside the cabin, before pushback...and they offered zero drinks or water. It was simply a horrible experience. At least my wife, who is only 5ft 1 , could rest her head on a pillow on the fuselage and get some kip once we had taken off.. and even she said the seats were very tight. I rawdogged 26 hours in the air. Honestly Jet 2 seats were so much better. I will , without question, never fly long haul econ with them ever again. I wouldnt fly BA business class either.
ОтветитьI want to try British airways 787 economy from SIN-SYD when I finish school and go travelling.
ОтветитьThey will always be Bloody Awful, have been since forever.
ОтветитьAwesome video! What camera and mic do you use?
