How to fix GE Sensi temp stove burners

I tried cooking rice in a heavy Corning Ware 4-1/2 qt. pot, and the pot still wasn't heavy enough with a Sensi-Temp coil burner. I had rice soup since the burner shuts off after 5 minutes. I wouldn't fool with Sensi-Temp electronics. Your best bet is to simply replace all four coil burners for about $50. And Spencer's TV and Appliances in Mesa, AZ wouldn't stand behind this defective merchandise either. Cheapskates!

I also removed the metal strips. It works but I am a bit afraid. Is it ok to remove the metal strips inside the enclosure?

Who came up with these temperature control burning stoves. It'll take hours just to fry a batch of chicken this new technology sucks

This was a safety regulation since 2018, so not all the manufacturers fault

This drives me insane. I’m sautéing meat and I throw in some onions and then it just stops cooking and I’m left with soggy onions. I just started using two burners and switching when one shuts off.

Some pans won’t sit flat because of this.

I have a question if someone can answer it for me i will be so thankful. I did cut those two wires and connected it to each other. After connecting I put cap on the wire so that if by chance those wire touch to metal we don’t get any electric shock. When i start the stove those plastic cap melted. I am not sure if is it safe to leave those wire without any covering. And if cover it with tape or plastic cap they melt and smell like short circuit. I am confused what to do☹️. Should I leave those wire without any covering.

I am looking to buy a new range without sensi-crap elements. Turns out I've successfully used electric stoves for 60 years without burnng down the house. Sensi-crap elements are like those new 'safety' gas can pourers that are a right royal pain in the fingertips which I also take a saw to so they are usable. This is all misguided and lousaly designed safety crap driven by liability and not good sense. Poorly designed crap for the lowest percentile common denominator of human intelligence. If you are that retarded dont use a stove or a gas can - and stay the ** away from sharp pencils!

Thank you for this video! I did one yesterday no problem but today I had trouble uncrimping those little brackets and snapped both of them. But also I just left the wires hanging inside and plugged it back in and caused a spark. Now the burner light won't go off. Any ideas what happened? Turning it off/on from the breaker didn't work

can you please show again clearly after opening that middle sensi burner because i am confused how to do inside i tried to join but it doesn't work and i am spending so many hours in cooking...

Thank you so much for making this video. We have the same stove. I've been trying to figure out why they get hot, then the heat goes down by itself, and goes back up again. It'll keep cycling over and over again. Very frustrating when you're trying to boil noodles. I'll try this, thanks again!

Attention All!!!
I did some searching on this technology and found out the that after this modification, the wires might burn out in a few month and stove will not be functional anymore.
Like @celem1 mentioned a few posts below, buying the old style coils is a better solution for this. Just keep these sensi-temp coils in storage for future use when selling this stove or something!

So we can’t just remove the wires completely?

Does anyone know how to clean these now because it has a sensor and there is wires going through the sensor
And as far as I know you can't get the wires wet

Thank you for this, moved into New home and they had this style burner and it drove me insane and I couldn't even fry bacon without it shutting off. I only use all-clad cookware so it doesn't deflect to cause the Hutton to come up, thus shutting off the burner. This fix, now all my burners stay the temp I want them. TY again!!!

I just moved in this apartment. They have these darn stoves. I really dislike it. My pasta comes out mushy. Can't pan sear my steaks. Oh let's talk about how long it takes to boil WATER!!!!! Why should the sensor caps change color when you cook on them? That's weird

I did the same but there was a small spark like thing after using it twice, and that burner stopped working. The coil still works since I opened and saw that the wires I had connected with each other - they got disconnected. So I connected them again and when I attach this coil to other burner at the back of same stove, it works fine. But I am afraid if even that will get sparked and stop working so I am not doing that.

It's really only there to try an prevent fires...like if someone was to forget the pan on the stove or that type of deal, it senses the temp at the bottom of the pan an it will open when it reaches an "unsafe" temp 😒, I've really only seen it fail when pressure cookers are used..or giant pans of food for LONG periods of time Also try to make sure you match the pan size to the burner size to help this from happening... obviously it was made with safety in mind BUT it's def a MUTHAFUCKN hassle and I've had to replace theses for customers more times then I care to even discuss.

Just curious why are the rear coils covered, I use the other way around use only the rear to avoid Oil spills or kids putting their hands.

Salam, Thank you for sharing this video, i was so much struggling to fix our cooking top. Since we bought it an year ago we are regretting why we bought it as we Pakistani are used to of eating roti which is impossible to make on this pathatic brand.
