Went already once in october 22 and going again this march (taking my mum) . Let me tell you, my expectations were HIGH, and well, it exceeded them. Started crying the moment the first chord of the organ was played. There's nothing that comes close to watch this musical live.

Has anyone seen the new "refreshed" production in the West End and, if so, did you notice the differences? This looks pretty much the same, although I know did they some set slimming/changes and cut the orchestra by almost half.

In my opinion inter racial casting has gone too far I’ve no objection to anyone being cast in a role but tell me can a white woman be cast in a lead in ragtime or colour purple ?.. if it’s it historically accurate then leave it alone and stop casting for likes

Was not impressed this year’s cast, the magic was broken for me. I saw this opera few years ago, and was just speechless, however, this week, I was unable to listen all of it. Will wait until new cast.

I have seen around 12 shows over the 35 years and hope to see the latest some time this year.

To everyone crying because Christine isn’t white and not blonde shut up because where is all this when ancient Egyptians are played by all white actors when they were brown double standards whites play coloured historical figures as in real people such as Egyptians and Jesus so why can’t she play a fictional white woman cry about it

I have always wanted too go see this but no one I knows has ever wanted too see it, I think I will just go by myself.

Last year was the best cast I get they want to be diversity but they should remember the phantom should be scary and deep and Hypnotising and Christine should be shy innocent and vulnerable

I saw this show yesterday, one word: PHENOMENAL!!! Amazing job to everyone involved, I had goosebumps the whole time and I can never thank the cast enough for the insane moment of happiness this musical gave me, thank you 💕 Lucy, Rhys and Killian were phenomenal 🥰🥰

I think it’s appalling they got rid of 13 of the original 27 musicians. I see this production as a scab production.

Just saw this at the weekend - completely awe-struck by the production and the amazing performances. Can’t wait to go again.

Saw this yesterday in Her Majesty’s Theater in London

Just saw it for the first time in London, was amazing. Love the cast!! Incredible experience.!

I don't know how to say this, but i was dissapointed.. I've seen it before and some how these performances felt less passionate.. and a little messy in parts. Maybe I have rose tinted glasses, they're definately talented artists.

Just horrendous. An insult to Phantom fans worldwide. Lloyd Webber repeatedly promised that the original production would return unchanged and in its entirety (his words). Then instead we get lumbered with a pale, reduced imitation. Gone is the proscenium that Hal Prince considered crucial. Gone is the Angel, Maria Björnson's favourite set piece. Gone are half the orchestra. Gone are half of the candles in the boat scene and the moving candelabra that made it so magical. Even the dry ice is skimped on so we no longer get the illusion of a lake. The costumes have been cheapened. Cost-cutting is evident everywhere. We also get a horrendously cheap-looking new flat instead of the gorgeous red curtain to look at during the interval and playout (which now sounds lame as hell with only 14 musicians). The Really Useful Group and Cameron Mackintosh have done this solely to line their pockets. Royalties no longer have to be paid to the original creatives and the original investors have been cut out. Anyone who considers this 'the best ever' or even buys the BS that this is an 'enhanced' version of the original needs their heads examining.

Just saw the show tonight and while it was very good I must say the cast from 2019 was far stronger. I specifically think Carlotta fell short and really didn't nail the highs if Prima Donna. Phantom was good in parts but lacked some of the acting chops and didn't have that a strong erotic chemistry with Christine

The Phantom of the Opera will always be one of my favorite musicals :D <3

My wife and I saw the Sunday Matinee on Nov 14th and it was simply breathtaking. This was our first time seeing The Phantom of the Opera and it exceeded all expectations. The costume design, the set, the actors (especially Lucy St Louis, Killian Donnelly, and Rhys Whitfield - all spectacular) and of course ... the music. Listening back to the music releases, both original cast and 25th anniversary, brings tears to my eyes ... it is such powerful and timeless music. I am secretly hoping for a 35th Anniversary London cast recording because that is "our" cast and their performances were perfect.
