Ok we truly considered moving to the Plano Allen area last year but and this is a big BUT . One ! The heat ! Break out in a sweat in 80 degree weather. Don't think we would survive one summer. Two ! Within an hour you can be hiking in the mountains or hunting up here . There's not much public land near Dallas. If you can solve this two obstacles we might start looking for a park bench to call home in the lone star state :)

I'm looking on moving to the Dallas area, in particular Frisco, within the next decade. Do you think that new construction homes will still be going up around that time still? I'd love to buy new if they still have the land to keep building!

The Democrats have Dallas County in a downward spiral. Republican Collin county is in a boom! Great schools reasonable taxes. Safe neighborhoods.

Unless you work in Collin county it would be a terrible place to live because it is ballpark 50 miles one way to any terminal in the DFW International Airport. The best choice as always is Grapevine,TX(the center of the universe) 5 miles or 10 minutes from Terminal D. FYI almost 2/3 of DFW International is in Grapevine city limits.

Four years later and Collin County is horrible. Thanks to the influx of nitwits who have no driving skills, it now takes twice as long to get anywhere.

It’s extremely difficult to get anywhere outside your immediate area without driving a car. If you love the stiffness of concrete, you’ll enjoy the treeless landscapes surrounding the limited trails that serve as mixed use spaces shared with power distribution towers.

As far as your neighbors, we have illegal immigrants who tried to kick in my front door. They were greeted with the thrill of their lives as we held them face down in the dirt at gunpoint while the police played keystone capers figuring out what to do with them.

If you love football, though, Collin County is the place to be. Sports receives ALL of the education funding here, and science is an afterthought. We have enormous football stadiums with practically zero vocational training facilities at the secondary education level.

Since none of the men can perform basic tasks like wire a light switch or fix a float valve on a toilet, you’ll have to call a skilled trade when things break. They usually arrive in force to look at your problem and insist that you must completely replace the fixture over making a simple adjustment at a cost of at least 20% over what they charge in areas less affluent than…(you guessed it)…
