If we remove our designs from RB - Are they able to keep a copy of them somehow? So, they could still have our art after we remove it???
ОтветитьThank you for making this video. I had just started out on redbubble. Glad I found this video early on.
ОтветитьThanks for making this video! After hearing what you had to say, I'm closing my redbubble shop permanently. They are going to reach into my pocket and take $20 for every $100 I make. I don't think it will be too hard to find another POD company.
ОтветитьCould you recommend another website that is better?
ОтветитьI Have never sold ANYTHING on RB. I have lots designs there and there’s zero traffic period for at least five years. It’s pretty much dead
ОтветитьIt is so sad that as always the artists are getting fucked left and right/ I wish we had made a better world where we did not have to go through these assholes but the future is all subscription based and sadly we the uneducated will do nothing but subscribe. Woe is man and unworthy of gift.
ОтветитьThe thumbnail though..😄I have no idea which is the best POD site.
ОтветитьThanks for the info. Now don't even know where to start selling my fashion illustrations and collages
Ответитьabsolutely agree.. thanks for your critique. Like the majority of these smart ass startups, the model is what they can get away with. What would you recommend as an alternative?
ОтветитьHello, I'm an artist and I'd like to try to earn a few $. Please can you tell me what are the best sites and alternatives to Redbubble?
ОтветитьSomething off track...Why there is a slight difference in the artist margin sent in the mail and the artist margin in the sales history table ?
Ответитьgo cry about it 💀
ОтветитьRedBubble is dead to me. They really screwed me over and wasted all my time. 4000 designs. May they go out of business.
ОтветитьRedbubble are nothing but rip off scum
ОтветитьSo I tried them this summer for sample prints but their quality disappointed me for clothing prints. After trying it and finding the quality didn’t meet my expectations. I pulled my designs off as a result because they didn’t hold up in the wash cycle. What are the other options?
ОтветитьWish I had known some of this before I spent so much time setting up a store, sharing on instagram and pinterest... I thought their prices for the items were high but figured it was kinda sign of the times.
ОтветитьI was already surprised the artist only makes 20%. Redbubble is so greedy, they don't appreciate the small artists. It doesn't cost them anything to receive art. They'll make the same amount of money and incur the same operating costs whether they have 5 big artists, or 20 small artists submitting and selling art prints.
So when they're charging even more fees to small artists, they're just adding onto their profits at the great expense of artists who make their business possible.
I was considering going to redbubble until I saw your video. Thank you so much for the information. What other sites would you recommend for someone who wants to sell a variety of different products? I liked redbubble because of the variety.
ОтветитьI wouldn’t even consider them but their zipper pouches are such an amazing quality ! Maybe somebody knows another company with normal prices where I could print zipper pouches ? Ones at vograce weren’t that amazing unfortunately :(
ОтветитьI was about to start with them but I think I’m good on it. That’s like an art gallery saying “here’s our base price, add yours to it, then we take half of that.”
ОтветитьI was considering opening an account so i thought i should see what artists have to say, this video is terrifying.
You just saved many of us, i wish there was a good alternative for someone like me who live in a third world country where shipping will cost more than its worth 🥹
Just saw they took so much from me. I'm so done.
ОтветитьRedbubble is basically a mess now; they suspended my account a while back and I also feel like they've became so greedy that they don't care about small creators on the platform.
ОтветитьI'm going to give redbubble try. I'm not complaining about the fees. We can raise the margin profit. 🙋♂️
ОтветитьWhat print on demand do you recomens not just for prints?
ОтветитьThanks for the content. Very well said.
ОтветитьThank you for sharing. I just made an account last night but I felt the price and quality was so strange. This really helped me decide not to sell there.
ОтветитьThey should take a loan if they want to invest.
ОтветитьAlternative sites please and thank you!
ОтветитьWhen I visit my shop, it says I have one design, but it doesn't show up. Instead it says" Uh oh. No results found. There were no results for your chosen filters in this artist's shop. "How do I get my designs to show up in my shop?
ОтветитьI'm starting to market myself as an artist more because in the next few years, I'd like to move away from full-time work. it just doesn't vibe with the way my brain works. Watching videos like this is helpful for me to plan my strategy so I can be mildly successful and not get discouraged.
ОтветитьRebubble is a HARD PASS for me.
ОтветитьI’ve been using Redbubble and I have yet to make anything off of it so it’s a little disappointing but I’m sure I can find something else I just want to make money and art at the same time 😢 is that too much to ask for?!
ОтветитьThanks for a great video letting us all know what is going on, it's shocking what companies will do just because they can. I won't be joining them, continuing my research for a uk based company, signed up with Teemill after a lot of searching, my 1st p-o-d company, good ethics, customer support, recycling and shop front, videos etc. I'll be giving it a good go and using my own artwork to hopefully avoid copyright issues. Wishing you all the best with your p-o-d ventures 😊🎉
ОтветитьI’m not sure if anyone else has dealt with this but they also aren’t accepting new accounts, there’s a phone verification number error that they are aware of but aren’t fixing so your shop won’t be able to open without the verification. They said there’s no work around lol
ОтветитьRedbubble account for sale, registration date 2022
ОтветитьThanks a lot for this video! Can please make a video about other platforms where I can sell my designs with lower prices and good quality?
ОтветитьInteresting information... I'm still searching, but I'm very shocked by this. You mention SquareSpace (I work with Shopify), but then you can't pay with i-Deal.... Do you have experience with Merch Amazon and/or Teepublic? Thnaks for your information and please go on!
ОтветитьThey are taking fucking 50% from my 19% margin, becauseeee of..... reasons
ОтветитьWhich plataform would you advice to a new artist start selling?
ОтветитьSounds like the goal is to eliminate all but their top sellers.
ОтветитьI am currently looking into POD as a side gig that I can possibly build up as a fairly good extra income in time ( and it's something I can do well into old age, as well ). I read somewhere that RedBubble doesn't distribute sales tax directly to the state tax commissions of any of the US States and that that has to be done by the artist ( seems like a HUGE hassle if that's indeed the case....especially from outside the US ). Anyway.... is it possible that part of the chunk they are taking from artists is now being used to pay state sales taxes so the artists no longer have to?
I can see companies like this raising the base prices of goods. I'm sure all of their suppliers, printers and warehousers have all raised prices to RedBubble. But, I truly don't get cutting artist "commissions" or "royalties" by 50% on top of raising base pricing for everything else. If they are now paying all of the sales taxes up front and not leaving it up to the artists, then that might explain maybe 10% to 15% royalty reductions. But, 50%? Wow! That's ridiculous.
And, from reading some of the comments here, it sounds like the tier system they've set up is almost completely random ( as are shop suspensions, sounds like ).
Further, I thought I had seen / heard that RedBubble has a range of choices on clothing quality, etc that artists can choose when they set up their stores. That must have been a different passive type POD company.
Also, since RedBubble, TeeSpring, Amazon Merch and most other passive POD model companies don't exclude artists from uploading the same design to other POD shops, is it not best to upload to at least 3 companies so when something like this happens you're not immediately back at square one?
So far, my biggest issue keeping my from getting started has been figuring out how to do my taxes with POD ( I'm not in the US ). This development at RedBubble gives me pauze, as well.
Now I have to wait months just to cashout since in order to cashout is $20.
ОтветитьThank you Kelsey. I have viewed your content before, good advice, too. I am gratefully relieved to have found this video. I have been creating graphic designs with Redbubble as a 1st pick to sell. I am so glad that I did not create an account there, yet. Maybe, if there is a mass exodus of artists, Redbubble will reconsider their greedy policy. They think that they are the only option? SMH...
ОтветитьI've been with redbubble for many years so far this month I've made £30.52 but red bubbles account feeds are taking £12.75 from that and I'm left with £17.77 to my name out of my earnings for this month so it just doesn't seem worth it anymore
ОтветитьWhat a joke!!! I was considering them but not anymore. Nope.
ОтветитьThanks for sharing it. I wanted to start using Redbubble again but you convinced me to just close it.
ОтветитьI’m just happy to make sales and others appreciate my artwork. In this economy it’s hard to grow creatively and sell. If you’re already an established artist congratulations you deserve it!
Ответить👏👏👏
