HA! They actually changed their website and Practice is "hidden" on the menu side on the upper right hand corner.
ОтветитьI really asked my living in abroad realitves to register me an account on some annual payment something like 26-39 pounds something (don't. Remember the number) at 2019 they just said they can't afford for 😂 while calling from a McDonald's joint 😂 . I wish if i had this and some edex engineer management1 and 2 courses in my bag 🥲 really i thought i would go work in abroad and study at night 😂 now it's a long shot . Can't do that while my liver is causing some serious nerve damage which makes me looks like a seriously dyslexic person . Well now i don't need it.
ОтветитьHello ! Thats super interesting but you mainly speak from a STEM student PoV (which makes sense).
On the other hand, im a man working daily and Khan is not only time consuming but also lacks providing me problems.
I want to learn maths to learn physics in détail and i feel like Brilliant is helping me doing that (currently finishing foundational maths course list).
My question to the STEM student you are would be : Do you think Brilliant could honestly make a standalone ressource for someone like me who will be willing to go deeper into physics but just wants to build a maths foundations to tackle real physics ?
Its really hard as a non-STEM student to find some honest opinions on Brilliant since each short and or reddit thread seems like it attracts a LOT of hate from this community.
Thanks a lot for your content and a great day i hope :)
I subscribed for just $26 (annual subscription and still available) from Bangladesh 🇧🇩 . But after a month I realised it's very very basic and it doesn't worth spending time in brilliant. I can learn many more from other free sources.
Ответитьdon't waste your money on brilliant it is piece of shit website you will ever visate in your life i am highly advise you don't give your money to brilliant it is not worth it
Ответитьpaying 400 au$ for a family for a year is a bit rich.. sorry but it's a no from me
ОтветитьYou look like a dark skin version of Chirs Ray GUN
Ответитьthey are CON ARTISTS. The wont stop billing us.
ОтветитьWhat do you think about khan academy? There's a free app and everything.
ОтветитьThey need to learn to stop scamming people they are all fraud
ОтветитьPoorly written title.
The title should have been....."Is brilliant worth it to STEM student"
Do you teach math? Math gives me nightmares
ОтветитьThey need to learn to stop scamming people, people ITS A SCAM AND FRAUD
ОтветитьIs this all I need for GCSE Maths?
ОтветитьI cant find this practice page with only the problems. It has only the course nowadays
ОтветитьCan't find the practice section now.. do you think it's a location thing, or did they remove it?
ОтветитьBra, you are talking about Math casually as of talking about music or sport, that is awesome!!
ОтветитьThe problem for me would be motivation. I would need something pushing me to learn this material, which I suspect in your case was the physics you were going to take. The thought process would be, “I have to learn this before physics starts in the fall.” If you just have a nebulous goal of “I want to learn”, odds are you’re going to try it out for a couple weeks and then it’s going to fall by the wayside, or at least it would for me. For me, I would need a project that I’m working on that requires these skills for me to learn, and a date in which I need to get the project done.
ОтветитьThey shut down the community part of the website, I believe
ОтветитьSeems like worth the money.
ОтветитьI feel like you said a lot of words super fast, making it hard to understand what you're really trying to convey. Then you brought up the website and it was tilted and not easily seen. I guess you thought the audience needed to see you more than what you're talking about.
ОтветитьOh thank god no brilliant referal link. I can trust you.
ОтветитьWell, I have tried it on my special need students without explaining them. They were only able to succeed on some Highschool projects.
This means their slogan “everyone can succeed in STEM” isn’t true.
What is true though that an average person (relative to the whole USA, not just the students) can master all algorithmic aspects of maths on every level if he is dedicated. Coming up with original proofs is another thing though. But the repetitive aspects of maths can truly be mastered by every non-disabled student with a lot of diligence
I'm a space nerd, but I love a lot of the community made courses for other subjects! I just started today (still contemplating on getting the subscription) and I'm currently doing one on solar energy.
Thinking about branching out to more hands-on activities like computer science!
Is there anything that is comparable to Brilliant that you would recommend? Both for the average Joe and students like yourself?
ОтветитьHii
ОтветитьI already subscribe it for lifetime long, link for you guys to have 3 months free for annual subscriber. ENJOY and YOU ARE WELCOME :)
ОтветитьHi I am trying to go on the website but it won't let me on unless I agree to a 7 day trial. How do I not join and access the free problems you are talking about? Or are you saying I can only access the free problems during the 7 day trial? New subscriber here. Thanks in advance.
ОтветитьBut the sad part is that they have removed the community 😞
Why just why ??????
Having Brilliant for a couple years now, I can definitely tell you that the problems get very hard.
ОтветитьDo they have coursed like organic and inorganic chem?
Anatomy?
Biochemistry?
Courses you find in medical school
Reading the comments I see many identify with your take and that's great. But I just want to say you're clearly a very highly intelligent individual, much more so than many who I would speculate are in need of very basic foundational concepts offered in the courses to get them going.
On a different note I read the article dealing with the relationship between brainteaser apps and genuine cognitive improvement and it confirms what I suspected that a heck of a lot of hype is involved in these apps.
If I was just starting out (I'm pretty old now) I'd like to write a book on the massive distortive effect capitalism has on scientific research.
Huge grants are given to researchers who's research promises to make investors rich. Little if any is given to those who's research isn't likely to make money. And researchers that might cause a loss of income are sidelined or smeared.
Thanks for your video and all good things.
Thank you for sharing. Very useful.
ОтветитьThanks mate. Great video, useful tips, and straight to the point.
ОтветитьI ran across Brilliant, looked them up, and found your review extremely helpful in determining whether I should use the paid tier. I'm glad I didn't. Thanks Ray, you and people like you are what drive beneficial human innovation.
ОтветитьI was looking to go into CS
But there was a good period in school where i just did not give a shit and payed 0 attention. While sure, it might not be as intense as going to math olympics, it seems perfect for brushing up on fundementals before starting the more difficult stuff?
With crypto, can devices pay for their own upgrades?
ОтветитьThank you. I purchased Brilliant as a supplement to my high school level homeschool for my 3 children.
Ответить🤤🤤🤤
ОтветитьVery interesting video. You mentioned that you don't think the subscription is worth it if you're a stem student. As someone who's not been in the educational system for some years now and has always struggled with mathematics, would the subscription be worth it then?
ОтветитьAmazing video (especially bc I’m in stem), what are the other platforms you would recommend for challenging math/ logic questions?
ОтветитьThanks and i will suggest use a better Mike or do voice edit there ais a sssss.. sound that is offputting .
Nice video 👍
I'm about to enter an ECE after being out of school for 12 years. Is Brilliant a good resource for refreshing my way up to precalc/calculus?
ОтветитьAs an ex engineering and post grad student, who was fairly good in studies, i have forgotten most of maths, i find Brilliant to be a good refresher of the common stuff and also helps keep my brain active while getting bogged down with relentless work and busy-ness of life. It is a good break from sitting on couch and watching Netflix after work. I have recently developed a huge interest in Quantum Physics, and to understand it a lot of old forgotten concepts are brought up, hence refresher is good.
ОтветитьThank you.
ОтветитьI love your work man! Just stumbled across your vid but man you make incredible content :)
ОтветитьI think part of the problem most of us dont even know where to look and brilliant has it all but I guess I could use it as a subject starter and learn elsewhere ahahaha
Ответить
