Thank you Devin.
I like your reel. Where to get one?
That's ok I found it on your website.
Would you recommend a non slip loop knot or clinch knot for streamers in high water?
ОтветитьJust in time
ОтветитьAlways something to learn from you 🙏
When it comes to casting one fly I’m guessing you are using 2 weight rod ?In general do you use 2 weight rod the most when euro nymphing?
What is that worm tied with ???
ОтветитьDevin, no not recognize the reel group showed in this vieeo.
Ответитьgreat tips! i could have used these a week ago. but from now on, i've got em. thanks!
ОтветитьWhat is your best method of carrying two rods?
ОтветитьGreat tips. Switching to a single fly has helped me a lot in the turbulent water.
ОтветитьI like fishing in high and dirty water. Often, bigger fish is caught , because they are less cautious and often stay very close to the bank
ОтветитьI do a lot of night fishing for browns, and your tips translate directly to that scenario as well.
ОтветитьGreat tips and advise. I have had some stellar days in (blown out) conditions. Thanks!
ОтветитьDevin, Will you do a video on staying hydrated fishing all day as I usually pack a frozen plastic bottle of water when I’m on the stream and keep xtra in a yeti in my vehicle which sometimes is a couple of mile walk back. I fish primarily Pa and Wv. I know when the water gets warmer in the plastic it is not very healthy. Any tips would be great.
ОтветитьYou are the best dude!!!
ОтветитьDevin, thank you for these very useful tips!
ОтветитьI am finding it nearly impossible to fish summer time flows in the 123 cfs in Missouri. I have caught fish but it seems higher flows work much better for this technique. any suggestions would really be appreciated.
ОтветитьWhat make and model of reel are you using in this video??
ОтветитьWhat euro flys do you recommend for tailwaters? Where the only insects are mainly midges, sow bugs, and scuds? Or do euro nymph flies really just work anywhere? If there is one fly, which one do you recommend for me to buy?
ОтветитьWished I had seen this video before yesterday’s trip to the Arkansas River in Pueblo CO. Between Sunday and Tuesday the release increased significantly and I could have used these tips. Thanks Devin, good stuff as usual.
ОтветитьCould you please re submit a new link to the flies for the video! I clicked the one you have listed and it says 404 not found
ОтветитьUm, the river your standing in front of is not a high water river, so, are your tips adiquite for an actual blown out river that is way above the high mark? Also, you never mentioned water temp, does that have anything to do with trout feeding habits, and where they might hold in a freestone river? How long does a trout quit feeding in low water temps? I have read trout can go without any food for months during winter. I have actually rescued a trout that was frozen in ice in a stream and picked it up out of the ice by hand, put it in the non frozen part of flowing water and it swam away to the bottom, might this have anything to do with trout feeding habits?
ОтветитьDevin: great instructional video. Thanks for sharing your wisdom. Loved the "use bigger flies"...every fly shop wants to sell us 24g midges for every water condition under 65 degrees. Maybe they know we won't catch anything and will resort to hiring their guide?? Great info.
ОтветитьThank you
ОтветитьDepending on the drop off, In spring I found that most of the trout in my area (Eastern Sierras) are literally right under your fly rod. I approach the water very calmly with the expectation that trout are no more than 1 foot off shore depending on the drop off. The slow water was just a few feet offshore and then from there it would be too fast even for a 4mm bead. Depending on the width of the river I found luck fishing the shore (much like in bass fishing) from the other side so I would not spook the fish. However, I do poorly in muddy water I need to work on that. Expect more snags.
