Dave said something negative about Ospreay? I'm honestly shocked. If Will blows his nose, Dave gives him three stars.

Osprey was wearing a Stone Island shirt on Dynamite, which is a high end steezy brand. While half the roster is wearing their wrestling shirts with the goofiest graphic designs imaginable that no human would wear in public. Bad take.

What's interesting is that it's the MEN who are the issue. The women ALWAYS come dressed and ready to stunt on everyone.

Having will ospreay dress in a suit would not work. Wearing a suit would work in the 1980s but not in today's wrestling world. Maybe changing his look a little bit to make him look like a world champion but he doesn't have to look like old school ric flair when he was nwa champion

When these looks and changes are made, they just can't be sudden, unless the character is a heel. Heels suddenly wear suits and sunglasses. This also has to adjust to the show. Wrestling has lost that bit of reality it used to have.

Agree with this 100% and yeah "dressing like a star" doesn't necessarily mean wearing suits or uber expensive clothes, to me it's more about wearing stuff that standout that your everyday person generally doesn't wear. Like watch NFL/NBA video of when the players arrive, sure there are some that may dress like a regular person but in general they are wearing stuff that the everyday person just doesn't wear. Whether it be cause it's too expensive, too flamboyant, too customized or they just don't have the body to "pull it off" whatever the case its not a look that most people wear. That's what dressing like a star is to me.

hulk hoegan was running around in yellow panties, rambling like a madman & was on top of the world;
no amount of wardrobe changes will change the fact that most wrestlers today would not standout at the airport.

My only minor complaint about AEW wrestler's attire is that they change way too often. People like familiarity, and if a wrestler can make a simple attire theirs by being consistent, they'd be more recognizable.

It's not only the clothes they wear, it's the way they act and talk, we all know they can do the moves and that's not enough to be perceived as stars in the entertainment business, even my wife that's not into wrestling when she casually watches with me she says that people like García, Perry, Cassidy and the Young Bucks look like random fans cosplaying as wrestlers. For a wrestling promotion that's on TV, it's fine if you have one or two guys that look like your average joes but the rest needs to look and act like superstars. A guy that's impressed me lately is Kyle Fletcher, he's stll green but has all the potential to be a top guy in any wrestling promotion.

I personally dont care, as long as it matches who the wrestling is. Seth rollins comes out in these goofy clothes but wrestles fantastic. K.O is great and one of my favs but hes usually casual clothes. Miz comes out in suits cause hes a 'mega' star, Cody is champ and wants to carry the company, the hurt syndicate has a business aesthetic etc. Its all about the picture.

It's not just about suits. CM Punk almost never wears a suit; but CM Punk always dresses like CM Punk. Neither do Roman, Jacob, Cena, Orton, etc; but Roman dresses like Roman, Cena like Cena, etc. Their attires are an intricate part of their characters and personalities. In AEW, not so much.

There is no point in trying to change anything about AEW or its wrestlers. AEW fans are the biggest roadblock to AEW ever growing past the point it is in now. The same folks who run down WWE all day while cheering Dean Ambrose and Edge putting in an awful match for the AEW title.

But why present Will like a champ? He isn't getting that push. The top of the card is mostly dominated by people who made their names in WWE. Will and Konosuke should be the center of the main event scene, but they are mid-carding behind Jon Moxley and his Hogan level creative control.

I disagree with Dave. It's a backward ass notion. Will Ospreay looks like a million bucks, like an athlete who's being sponsored by all these sportwear brands that one wouldn't even dream of wearing, yet he looks relatable and he carries himself like a very humble person. The Hurt Syndicate are an organised group that hurts people, and when their not hurting people they look slick. They have a whole different vibe and comparing them is dumb.

its not about casual vs suit, you can look like a star with attire that isnt a suit

stone cold looked like a star, rock looked like a star, bret looked like start, theres a much longer list of stars not in suits than there are who wore suits....

the idea is just dont look like some other guy on the street - which Will does lol

look at swerve or even hangman - they at least have a look

That preview pic 😄 Is that Ospreay cosplaying as Orange Cassidy? I like his hair, though. Nice 90s look. Ospreay is kind of overdressed in his wrestling gear. Today he has the charisma to wear it, but it used to look a bit cringe some years ago for such a down to earth guy.

AEW has had this issue forever and their fans have been ignoring it for about as long. Then they end up being shocked when the company has the stigma if being "uncool" and small time when 1 of their top stars show up dressed looking like he just came from out of PE class cutting promos about dookie against the top heel tag team that look like middle schoolers a couple of weeks ago 🤣

The problem is that historically wrestlers looked like superheroes physically. They don’t anymore.

That means the focus on dressing like a star is more emphasised these days. MJF is a great example, he dresses like a star.

This whole conversation is so disingenuous. Roman was out there in a T-shirt during the peak of the Bloodline story and no one doubted he was a star. CM Punk comes out in hoodies and jeans and is the most over guy on any show. Having charisma and having a strong presence matters way more than the clothes or gear.
