We had the honor of connecting with Areg Azatyan, the visionary filmmaker, writer, and producer representing aysor.plusfilm. Founded in 1991, Aysor-Plus stands as Armenia's first independent film company post-USSR, pioneering the global presence of Armenian cinema. Their impactful films have graced over 70 international film festivals, including Cannes, Berlin, Rotterdam, Locarno, and Busan, earning critical acclaim and numerous awards.​

Areg's recent works, such as The World Is Ours (2024) and The Sheep (2020), delve into profound themes of identity, societal challenges, and the human condition. These narratives not only highlight the richness of Armenian storytelling but also resonate with universal audiences.​

Engaging with Areg at the convention was a reminder of the power of cinema to bridge cultures and spark meaningful conversations. Aysor-Plus continues to inspire and lead the way for independent filmmakers globally.​
