So i came to conclusion that -
1. It was all Aphrodite's fault. How an she used her magic on already a married woman (not surprised Olympian gods are shady but still)

2. It's also Paris fault. Had he not fallen in love with Helen and broken the oath by taking her away from Menelaus, the war wouldn't happen.

3. Zeus is for the street.

4. Odesseus is by far the most intelligent, clever and interesting character written by homer.

5. Patroclus is one of the most loyal and bravest soldier. Idc if you agree or not. In the illiad, he was just a mere/side character...but at the end, he's one of the reason why greeks get back on their feet.

6. Hate Apollo for meddling.

You can pretty much summarize The Iliad as Hector fucking around and finding out real quick that killing the man Achilles loved would invoke his wrath.

I was really worried that a 35 minute long video about the Iliad was going to have to gloss over a LOT of lore.

And unfortunately I was right.

Can’t really call it the “entire” story with so much left out or needlessly simplified.

An interesting fact regarding the significance of Troy for ancient Greeks is the folowing:

When Alexander the Great united all Greeks to avenge for the Persians invasions some 150 years before, he left Antipater in Greece as deputy Hegemon of the Corinthian League, as a reward for loyalty in Alexander's claim to the throne, with 12,000 troops to deal with any rebellions.

Alexander set-off on his legendary campaign in 334 BC and his route was the same that Xerxes had taken when invading Greece.

He sacrificed at the grave of Protesilaus, the first man of Agamemnon's army to set-foot on Asian soil. He made a formal sacrifice to Poseidon and Nereides in mid-crossing. He also poured libation into the Hellespont. The royal squadron of "Hetairoi" landed at Achaen's Harbour and Alexander leapt ashore in full armour, launching a spear onto the opposite bank.

Alexander visited Troy so that he could sacrifice to Athena and pour libation to the heroes of the Greek army and celebrated Achilles' grave, according to Plutarch. He gained blessing for war and exchanged his own ceremonial armour for relics from the Trojan War and had these carried out to battle before him. He laid a wreath at Achilles grave and Hephaestion laid one on the grave of Patroclus. He then returned to the army and marched to meet the Persians...

That's how it all began... Eternal glory to all of our formidable ancestors 🔥🏛️🇬🇷

Fun fact, The god of the forge, and Zeus were both part of the war. With Zeus being on troys side, and god of the forge making Achilles armor after hector stole his armor. Also isn’t it insane that diomedes was able to defeat ares, and throw a spear threw athrodides hand. Other fun fact did you know the the arrows that shot Paris were the exact arrows that Heracles had dipped in hydra blood making them poison.

Maurico Druon, secretary of the French Academy: "Albanians belonging to those people older than History itself. Albanian grandparents participated in the war of Troy, led by Achilles (on one side) and Hector (the other side). "

Troy was a battle between North Albanians/ Illyrians Gheg und South Albanians/Pelasgians Tosk. Helen was never the reason! There were some religious conflicts between Illyrians and Pelasgians.

Troy was not a city but a region with 12 communities in North Albania. You find all the myths of that time stamped on the North Albanian folkloric costumes.
