Nice review. I returned my GoPro 11 and got the mini instead for $179 from military exchange sale 🤣 alot cheaper and I don’t take photos with it. and I’m used to the no screen since i had hero session 5 way back when 🤙🏾

Well… the Mini isn’t designed to vlog, it’s designed for action. Push the button and go. I love it.

The mini looks to be a special purpose camera and not a do all camera and it should be perfect for action sports. Wish you could change the battery. Video and audio quality appeared to be the same.

The auto power off is set to a way too short 10 seconds.

The photo thing is not a big deal, I don't think I have used any of my action cams to take pictures.

I took mine out on the kayak Monday and audio is the same as the 10 and 11, 3 mics.
I used stick on dead cats and audio was great.
The fingers on the back allow for a lower profile hat mount and then you can remove the bottom finger mount assembly

My mini froze up and started to overheat yesterday. I couldn't remove the battery either, which was scary. I did eventually hold down both buttons long enough to shut it off, but it was so hot I almost had to let go. Put my thermometer on it about a minute after I got it shutoff and it was 127 degrees Fahrenheit. I have used it since without an issue.

The only glaring issue is the battery, after a year of full use that battery will degrade not being able to replace it is a dealbreaker, if it had a smaller but replaceable battery that would be better

great comparison, if i was to ever get the 11 mini i would just use it for action shots on my vlogs an hook it up to tractors an other equipment to get cool angles

I tend to watch all your videos as you give good info useful to me. Also, I like supporting other PNW creators. I'm gonna stay with my Hero 11 sinc there's just not all that much difference between the two and I already have the Action 2 for smaller areas. Thanks for the vid!

Audio on the Mini is much worst - The regular 11 has a much better stereo capture of audio

On the GoPro website in September they had a picture with the accessories for the Mini and that included the mic adapter. I made a mental note of that at the time since I own the adapter. I speculate that the adapter made the Mini freeze, and that might be a reason for the delayed Mini shipping. Now, they state that the mic adapter dies not work, and the picture is removed.

I love GoPro but this ain't even mini 😅 It's just a slightly smaller 11 without the screens, without the changeable batteries, without photo mode and not that much cheaper...

Mini is what GoPro was invented for..pure action. I have it for extreme sports like kitesurfing/snowboarding etc. Less screens to break. Smaller and more compact! I see many hate towards the Mini because the GoPro turned into a vlogger camera past few years..im glad they invented the mini

I think they needed to either make the mini much cheaper, or much smaller, or give it replacable battery capability to make it a viable alternative to the hero 11 black. I like the camera a lot mainly because I love the regular hero 11 but the reality is that probably the only people who will buy this camera are the FPV drone enthusiasts or people who want a dedicated POV camera to stick onto a helmet or something
