Thank you for your SUCCINCT and FACTUAL Information on why AC City is doomed. We use to visit often in the 2005-2010 and the place was awesome. The last time we visited prior to COVID, 2019? WAS DISCUSTING. 50% of the people are at least 400 pounds, not 300, 400+ These 50% are riding the boardwalk bus or in those old people carts, RASCALS. Here's the best part, they are drinking sugar sodas, JUST LIKE THE MOVIE. Ever see the movie Wall E - that's AC City.
ОтветитьHotels are full of bedbugs too.
ОтветитьI came here for the weekend. Haven’t been here since summer the 2012, a few months shy of Hurricane Sandy. I can tell the charm it had when I was last here it’s not the same. This place lost so many attractions and it’s literally nothing here. Idk what happened but coming here this weekend made me realize how much stuff was gone. It’s literally a shit hole.
Ответить...As far as I am concerned, you really have NO business whatsoever in a place where the mainstay is gambling - if you DON'T gamble!
ОтветитьI think Atlantic City should re-invent itself like the other Jersey shore areas. Look at Asbury Park. It gambling at one point in time but now it doesn’t and it has become something different. Atlantic City might have to do the same.
ОтветитьTrump 2024
ОтветитьThree things that the federal government did that hurt the city. 1) Running down the hotels along the boardwalk by seizing them and converting them into hospitals for veterans returning home from WW2. 2) An overabundance of federally subsidized low income housing. 3) Requiring sand dunes to be built which eventually blocked the ocean view from the boardwalk.
ОтветитьWHAT HAPPENED IS; NEO NAZI DEMOCRATS. CHEATED TO GET IN OFFICE. AND DESTRYIED OUR ISLAND! NOW WE HAVE. THOUSANDS! OF ILLEGAL ALIENS LIVING IN THE STREETS! DAILY LOOTING. DAILY MUGGINGS. DRUGS. ON EVERY CORNER. DRINKING ALCHOHOL. IN PUBLIC. BEING DRUNK! IN FRONT OF YOUR CHILDREN! WE ARE OVER RUN WITH LGBTWBDS&M SEX CULTISTS. SEEKING ACCESS TO YOUR CHILDREN. AT SHOWBOAT'S WATERPARK WE LOCALS CALL PEDOVILLE.
ОтветитьSooooo fallout is attracted to this atrocity
ОтветитьThe local government of Atlanta City really are frustrating.
Ever since the "success" of the casinos in the late 70's, they've been obsessed with trying to find this next big "Quick Fix" to the city's problems, that simply doesn't exist.
If they really wanted to help the City, they'd address the real issues effecting it like the homeless problem, the drugs, the crime, the lack of jobs outside of tourism and the casinos, and the high cost of living.
If they would address just one or two of these issues, than people would consider coming back and actually have some hope for the city, but they just won't.
Time has changed and economic growth has changed dramatically and Atlantic City won’t be the same ANYMORE
ОтветитьAtlantic City summer 1998 was the bomb memories
ОтветитьDysfunctional government and a 70% renter population including a 40% poverty rate. If there were a 70% home owner population, the people would throw out the corrupt politicians from office and begin to attract class and elegance that was once there a century ago.
ОтветитьI'm from Ontario Canada me and my friends used to go to Atlantic City all the time. You couldn't pay me to go there now
ОтветитьPeople got tired of being ripped off by casinos😮 That’s what happens😮
ОтветитьThis so sad bc I grew up in Atlantic City and still live pretty close by, I got back all the time. I’m 24 now but when I was growing up there I never new it used to be a much brighter place filled with more life and less crime, always just thought poverty and crime was always how it was. When I got older of course I caught on but it’s just sad to say my home city in such bad condition especially when I got family there still, don’t even get me started on old friends I lost due to crime.
ОтветитьPalumbo finally got there.
ОтветитьThere needs to be a new way to get new industry in Atlantic City Beaches need to be cleaned up as well as finding year round traffic not just the summer. Southern New Jersey is a big retirement area so why not increase services in health care and maybe convert hotels into assisted living spaces
ОтветитьAtlantic City New Jersey is a great place to go to gamble and to eat but not a good place to go for a vacation try Ocean City New Jersey
ОтветитьJust go a little farther to Ocean City New Jersey that's still very nice. Atlantic city still makes money. But there's alot of crime, people smoking weed everywhere, people asking you for money. Rude people butting in lines .people being to loud, fighting, chicken bones on the sidewalks. Empty bottle of Hennessey on a boardwalk bench ect...but if you can live with that Atlantic city is good
ОтветитьWhy should I go to Atlantic City as Parx Casino is just twenty minutes southwest of New Jersey’s state capital of Trenton in Bensalem, Pennsylvania outside of Philadelphia. It’s closer and more convenient.
ОтветитьI went to Atlantic city when I was 12 years old. My mother and step father took me and my brother there. I remember the time there was laser games there. I wanted to go in the casino but security said no children allowed in the casino.
ОтветитьThe real boardwalk empire
ОтветитьGreat video! Camden, NJ next stop?
ОтветитьHistory always repeats itself. Atlantic City will rise again.
ОтветитьLow income losers have entrenched themselves in the residential areas of AC. They breed drug use and crime. Corrupt government doesn't help either.
ОтветитьAC spent a ton of money to build that outlet mall that is a few blocks from the boardwalk, when they should have spent that money to build attractions on the boardwalk where most of the casinos are..
ОтветитьAC straight down the drain. Such a horrible place to visit.
ОтветитьLikely bleek future ? You’re bugging man AC is the East coast Vegas it’s always Gon be there asshole!
ОтветитьAtlantic City is fine i go there a lot and many people are there.
ОтветитьAs long as you don't lose money.
ОтветитьIt's a real shame they had to blow up a perfectly usable building rather than to repurpose it. I'm not an expert but it seems like the Trump tower could have been repurposed for low-income and senior housing. That way the city could get some property taxes coming in, and the casino workers who live in that hellish, violent city off the boardwalk would have somewhere safe to retire to!
ОтветитьAnother obstacle for Atlantic City, as a gambling destination, is the outrageous number of tolls an out-of-stater has to pay just to get there. With local casino's within 1/2 hour from their homes, why would anyone what to pay $60 in tolls and drive 3 hours to get there?
ОтветитьDoes anybody know how big the Atlantic City Airport is,I want to go this year to Atlantic City but all the flights say there's a landing Philadelphia and you still have to drive to Atlantic City why do the flights land In Philadelphia ???? is my question Atlantic City still pretty far
ОтветитьIn the summer of '72 my Aunt drove my sister and I to Atlantic City from Philly and the whole place was virtually abandoned except for the Boardwalk which was still popular. Really creepy place at the time but we still had fun at the beach.
ОтветитьThose outside casino didn't have the great entertainment back in 90 s where you could see Liza Johnny Mathis top very top entertainers the beach are dirty true
room are good it's entertainment that has failed
What happened to Atlantic City is the same thing that happened to Vegas. It died with the Mob and the Showgirl. Like everything else they touch, Progressives made it boring.
ОтветитьThey need to open a hard rock in East Rutherford. Nobody from north jersey wants to drive 2 hrs to go to ac
ОтветитьGet all the smug, corrupt LIBERALS out of AC and it will turn around.
ОтветитьAtlantic city lost its monopoly
But Atlantic city is Monopoly
Monopoly!
ОтветитьOh, and fun fact: the marina area is far better than the boardwalk area. There's a reason why The Borgata is the best casino in AC. Personally I miss Trump Castle. I really liked that place. My uncle was an iron worker and he helped build many of the casinos like Bally's, Tropicana, the now defunct Playboy, etc.
ОтветитьI grew up and still live not too far from AC(about 30 minutes) and what happened to AC is simple. While there was the casinos, a block off the strip AC is a complete shithole. They were never allowed to get rid of the street performers and panhandlers on the boardwalk and it didn't help to have one corrupt mayor after another. Even with the revenue they got from the casinos they did nothing to improve the city. High crime and crumbling buildings doesn't look too good to tourists. And say what you want about Trump, he did an awful lot for AC starting with the new convention center and tunnel. Oh, and he didn't just bring in boxing. He hosted Wrestlemania's 4 & 5.
ОтветитьGoing there as a kid was awesome even not being able to gamble. Boardwalk food in any New Jersey town is the GOAT
ОтветитьGet the spit out of your mouth, stop speaking so close to the mic.
Ответитьits kinda sad. Atlantic city was really my childhood. I remember every time on a Friday when I was 5 that I would ride an academy bus from new york to ac, which was the best part, and remembering staying in trump plaza(rip) and caesars. I'm now 23 and hopeful to revisit my childhood really soon
ОтветитьIt's not the casinos entirely. There was lots of corruption done by the government and the mob (yes the mob exists in NJ). Trump making huge promises to help Atlantic City that didn't happen and forcing AC into more debt. Jobs declining at a rapid pace.
ОтветитьI'd never heard of Atlantic City New Jersey till I watched this video.
ОтветитьI going for Thanksgiving
ОтветитьI went here a few years ago and it was dry. Definitely not what I expected.
