Right shaft is the engine of the club 😊
ОтветитьAll irrelevant if you can't change the shaft like in my wilson launch pad 2
Ответитьawesome video well done and might i say you are looking amazing cheers from Vulcan Canada
ОтветитьGreat video and info
ОтветитьI don't think many people realise that regular for one shaft is not the same for another shaft.
ОтветитьBland outfit ya get there today. Great video though. Carry on.
ОтветитьFor this to be an objective test you really need to match lofts. A 30 degree 7 iron (which is in fact a 6) is always going to go further than a 33 degree one regardless of the shaft. Surely putting a different shaft in the head he had already would have been thr first thing to try?
ОтветитьI’ve moved tensei blue stuff shaft to Hzardus CB regular it’s really helped my driving accuracy while not sacrificing distance.
ОтветитьI would reccomend any one to have a shaft fitting , it put 25 yards on my drives with better dispersion. Nearly 60 and still putting it out there around 270 yards after the fitting .
ОтветитьI switched to the KBS TD in my driver/UW/7w this year. What a difference for accuracy for me. Distance is just about the same, maybe a little longer. Great products.
ОтветитьIf you're going to have a shaft fitting, get the fitter to not tell you what he's putting in. Your subconscious and preconceived ideas have such a huge influence over how you swing the club.
Mark crossfield, love him or hate him, has done videos in the past with all types of players, blind tested and there was very little difference between heavy tour stiff shafts and lightweight ladies shafts, in fact most of the time the ladies shafts gave the best results.
I think it would be interesting to see my golf spy do a robot test with different shafts. I'm guessing the reason they havent is because the manufacturers know that there won't be a whole of difference and won't let them!
That's not to say shaft fitting is pointless, despite what the truth is mechanically we do all have preconceptions and we will react to different weights and flexs dependant on our swing. Do a blind fitting and you will only need to hit each shaft a couple of times to tell if it's the right one for you.
That's my opinion for what it's worth, some people just like geeking out on equipment and that's cool, I think the biggest separator in golf is belief. If you truly believe something then it generally becomes a self fulfilling prophecy.
did you try lofting down the HL?
I always find amazing in fitting the difference shaft length makes - i made a standard length driver initially and yes got longest hit out of it but my strikes were all over the place and went 1/2'' shorter and so much more consistent
i got fit for GT recently but was a bit disapointed that the shop only had a couple shafts to try but still good result
I never knew shaft made that much difference , or the difference you said. I had assumed (incorrectly apparently ) more flex equaled more erratic club head ,and more so the faster the swing ..in my mind that meant my consistent push and often slice would be worse if i went regular or more flex… im blown away now and cant wait to switch my old(think reg flex) shaft onto my new Qi head and see if my new insane slice lessens some .. i go from a spread of good drive, then two or 3 slices to varying degrees as i adjust my swing till suddenly snap pull hook, rinse repeat …the struggle is real when you spend a large bucket getting maybe 20 out of 100 playable… i know its my ugly swing but frustration lately in not finding a “fix” within the swing like i usually can, with a new driver that supposedly fixes miss hits Is killing any confidence i had .in other words im getting g desperate lol …👍🏼✌️
ОтветитьThe shaft is everything
Ответить👍👍
ОтветитьThis has truly been an eye opener. Best bit for me is dont try to change your swing for the.clun try changing things with the club.for YOUR SWING! I see club fitting in your future with the knowledge you present so well.
ОтветитьReally interesting video. BTW is that a Bombs Away Towel you have on the ground with your balls on?
I buy their towels and they are awesome
Great video Hannah.
Out of interest do you use standard length? Also how tall are you?
Food for thought. I’d love to go and try different shafts as I think it would benefit me massively. Mine’s off the shelf. My swing speeds are almost identical to yours but I’m guessing I’m a bit taller than you 5’11.
Keep the vids going
Great video. I have a 60 gram regular in my Ping G410 driver, clubhead speed around 95-100. It might be worthwile to try a lighter stiff shaft.
ОтветитьBeware, if you are losing the ball to the left it may mean that you actually have too SOFT shaft. Sometimes players realize that they get lot of hooks, and try to compensate this by opening the face.
It always goes out of control...
Hmmm, interesting results. Thanks Hannah. You seem to hit those light shafts very well, but I'm quite comfortable with 65gm graphite and my other driver is actually an old Rifle steel shaft. Oddly enough, both give me pinpoint accuracy despite the weight difference, and close to the same distance. Not only that, I haven't played in five years, and my club speed has really slowed. Still the same results with the same clubs except for a loss of distance. This would seem to contradict all fitting scenarios, but works great for me.
ОтветитьLast season, I switched from Stiff S (swing speed 96-100). Moved from that to shorter, regular, with low kick point, dropped 10 grams in weight at 50 grams. Gained 6-8 yard of carry bc launch was higher and spin more optimal.
ОтветитьGreat video Hannah - really interesting as my clubhead speed is similar to yours. I did quite a bit of shaft testing last winter, mainly out of interest as id struggled with driver last season. I did find heavier shafts dropped my ball speed quite a bit, so i prefer 50 grm category generally. Also I was typically borderline into stiff flex on most fitting charts at this sort of speed. Ended up fitting myself into Diamana TB 50 in an SR flex (Stiff Regular). Its been a pretty good comination for me in Paradym X head this year but i still think there is more to be had so have a proper fitting lined up in a few weeks time...........
ОтветитьFitting is more about dispersion and impact consistency than purely distance
ОтветитьGreat video showing real world differences. I have a low hook that comes out every now and again, but generally everything I hit is too low. I play a 10.5 Stealth with regular Hazardous Smoke RDX.
ОтветитьWhilst the performance data is interesting, the swing weighting would have been jumping all over the place. If you were at a good fitter, they would have adjusted the swing weight with each shaft. Still that said, the lighter shaft definitely gave you great consistency
ОтветитьDo you find the same issue in the irons?
ОтветитьAccording to mark crossfield - not at all! He even called a subscriber stupid for suggesting it could.
ОтветитьGreat video, well explained and demonstrated. Keep up the good work. 👍🏌🏻♂️
ОтветитьThis is a great video but it also shows the variables in different shafts. I bought a custom fit pxg driver 12 months ago but not overly convinced with the shaft option they gave me but didn't really hanger the option of trying many.
ОтветитьI'm not worried about my shaft flex. That's easy, a regular flex. What I wonder is, what is the best torque for me? I have three different drivers, one with a torque of about 3, one with about 6, and the other with about 8. I like the feel of the 8, but I seem to hit more fairways with the 3, and have the longest distance with the 6. I'm confused, though. What impact should I expect to see from different torques?
ОтветитьDepends on the shaft...
ОтветитьWas considering going to a Ventus TR Black 5S from a 5X because of tennis elbow. Not gonna do it if it's going 60 yds left 🤣. I will rest up and maybe check out the Tom Brady anti-inflammatory diet.
