A question that we get asked frequently is "Why did y'all become minimalists? What's your story?". In our case, we don't think there is a singular answer; what we have is a collection of stories and experiences that, over time, influenced our outlook on life.
Our original script for the story about this 30-day trip was more than double in length, but we thought: Who would want to listen to us reminisce for 15 minutes? 😂 So we controlled ourselves. Should we make these type of Storytime videos into a series? Maybe a longer audio episode as a podcast? 🤔 Let us know what you think! (And don't forget to LIKE & SUBSCRIBE!)
I love this
ОтветитьIn ALL things give thanks.
1 Thessalonians 5:18
Love people generously and use things minimally!
Set yourself free and live in the moment with joy.
Cherish each other.
A very inspiring video to what is a counter-cultural lifestyle. Mimetic desire (the desire to desire the things that people around us desire) is very strong and what most people desire is shaped by strong cultural assumptions and big advertising. I'm glad you persevered and thanks for your content.
Ответитьoh thank you so much to share this . i am in this situation of transition actually and i was wondering the same. thank you ;)
Ответитьboring to not filming your face
ОтветитьThere’s a saying live for less so you can work for less.
ОтветитьYou two are incredible. Thank you for sharing your lives, and doing everything with determined patience. I find it admirable.
ОтветитьThe best decision in your lives. I have never looked back and yes most of my friends have Mercs and Condo but I am free and I have done skydiving, flew a plane, drove a Ferrari and Lambo, fired real guns. Now I can be financial free if I want to. Take a break Singaporeans and think for yourself, not your future.
ОтветитьThis channel is so damn chill, I love it! 😂
ОтветитьThank you for this video. I am already on this path, but this story is a great way to show this life and its benefits to friends and family.
ОтветитьLovely! One of your best videos so far. This kind of experiences are so useful for many people that are struggling with society stablished must’s. I have the same feelings and stress one time until I realize that more things are equal to more problems, big things are equal to big problems. The most valuable things we have in life are time, health and peace. Money and items only are only tools that should help us to achieve these three objectives but, usually, get us exactly the opposite. Thanks for sharing.
Ответитьthis is Thought Worthy!
ОтветитьWhere does one get the chair/floor desk cady you have?
ОтветитьHey, Your fan from Bangkok here!
ОтветитьThanks for this video.
It s nice to hear about different ways of life and stories. It made me feel good.
loved it! if you were relatively risk-averse, maybe you could talk about becoming more comfortable with taking risks?
ОтветитьLoving your channel! Contentment is a struggle for many including myself. I feel I am constantly working on it.
ОтветитьIve been thinking of going minimalist because I’ve had so much clutter in my life from my family life. Though I wont be a pure minimalist due to my love of books.
Ответитьthis is something i always wanted to inculcate in my children. to be self contented and not caught up in a life that is dictated by others. Walk the path less travelled and you will find your own special place in life.
ОтветитьAfter seeing and experience some life threatening situations you will understand that cultivating contentment is the most important thing. Not career, possessions, false friends and expectations etc.
Life can be over at any moment and you also get older. So just live now. Therefor I reduce my worktime to spend more time with my family, friends and myself.
I admire both of you. Please keep creating this awesome content!
ОтветитьThank you for your video. I have noticed that when I have more things, I begin to feel overwhelmed. I have learned that having just the clothes I wear and Love saves me time dressing, money, and space. Thank you again.
ОтветитьThanks for sharing your thoughts and meaning quotes, it does help me in one way or the other in thinking what I want in live. Hope to see more contents from both of you. Keep it up!
ОтветитьI'm curious about both of you guys' thoughts on family planning, are you guys planning to have kids?
ОтветитьWhat kind of books do you read? Which one inspired or taught you recently?
ОтветитьIt is an awesome video, showing your fears and thoughts that more or less everyone of us shares when doing the "not so ordinary/expected" from society, relatives and friends.
I think it takes courage to explore what do you really like and have the introspection and make the outcome the guide on your lives.
I'd love to have more videos in this format, but I'd like to see your faces, it was weird to see the video seeing HL's torso and not the face, it's about understanding better what you are saying by reading the lips which help a lot with non-native English speakers like me.
Keep being awesome.
Love you guys so much !❤️❤️
I can resonate so strongly with your story, I'm also currently rebuilding my life after realizing I need to stop chasing other people's ideal, and instead focus on what's truly important to me. Theres nothing more painful than living a life full of what ifs and regrets. There really comes a point where fulfillment is more than just money.. It's definitely not an easy journey but at least I honored myself enough to do it 💪
Wonderful video with beautiful drawings. I really enjoyed this! Thanks for sharing
ОтветитьReally loved this type of video. Would be wonderful to see more. This resonates with me even though I've been on my own minimalism journey. Thank you!
ОтветитьI feel like the tendency to compare my life to my peers' lives was one of the biggest joy-killers for me. In contrast, learning to cultivate contentment has been one of the biggest breakthroughs in my peace of mind and everyday joy.
I really enjoyed this story time - please keep making more videos like this!
Great!
ОтветитьI don't think you guys downgraded your lifestyle. It is more of ultimate upgrade to be able to slow down and not care about the trend.
great video :D
Love this format! Please continue!
ОтветитьThis is awesome! Would love to see more of such videos :)
ОтветитьI live in Thailand. Would love to start something on my own as well !
ОтветитьLove it
Ответитьjust found your channel and not many locals are minimalists. Seems like all the minimalism videos I have watched are all from the western part of the world. Nice videos!
ОтветитьThis video couldn‘t have come at a better time for me! I have been working as an accountant for 15 years now, I started the apprenticeship at the age of 15. Even back then I wanted to do something else, but at that time it wasn‘t possible for me. At the age of 16 I met my husband and in all those years I still didn’t quit the job I absolutely hate, because we had the goal of buying our own apartment. We reached that goal in March this year, but it wasn‘t what we expected and we were massively disappointed. At least it gives us some form of security financially. Now we decided it is finally time for me to quit my job and do what I love, I’ll start studying game design next year and I couldn‘t be happier😊 even though it means we have to be content with less in the future
Ответитьkeep it up. I know someday all the hardwork will be fruitful. 🙏❤️
ОтветитьAnother great video. Glad that you enjoyed your time here in Bkk, TH. I am also in this trajectory and frequently thinking that is this all there is to it but why risk it. This pandemic shows that I am in a good position (career and financial wise) but it is also killing me inside.
ОтветитьGood filming. Love it. It's really what me n my hubby doing right now. Live our life simple, fully and with contentment. Always with thankfulness.😃
ОтветитьJiayou!
ОтветитьWhat an encouraging and inspiring story. Thank you!!
Ответить“We downgraded our lifestyles, but upgraded our lives.” This line really resonated with me being on the opposite end of the spectrum from you. We are now retired, but I see how this thought process could benefit us greatly in our retirement. Thanks!
Ответить'downgraded our lifestyles but upgraded our lives'
ОтветитьAwesome! Can see your full face? Haha is this the style
ОтветитьReally encouraging!!
