Bus the Homeless to New York or Chicago. They can get free housing, Food; and Health Care. They should come before illegals. Ship them out!

This can be solved with low income housing. The money the city is spending right now to clean up the city could instead be spent to fix up some old motels or abandoned buildings. Take a nominal feel from all low income recipients, hire a caregiver, pay for administration and upkeep, give these people some dignity. Cause what the city is doing now is not working. All the nasty judgemental comments don't help either. It's just spreading hatred.

We have supplied more resources and more money yearly on this and instead of decreasing the homeless it has increased. Time to cut off funding and move on. Put our money and resources into people who work and pay taxes.

Mayor Ted Wheeler has about as much brains as a lizard. He has none.

The PROBLEM lies with over priced housing. Portland needs to cap low income rent at $500 a month. The landlords cannot raise the rent at all above that amount of money.

Places like Musolf Manor, which is bedbug infested, charge $800 or more for a 250 square foot studio. That's fair market rent. The place is not worth that amount of money & it's very poorly managed. I know because I used to live there.

Wheeler needs to get off his ass & start cracking down on greedy landlords. The homeless problem could easily be solved with better housing opportunities.

As far as the camping ban, expect a ton of lawsuits. That was the most stupidest idea ever!

These major stores can't get support from the city for security, they want the encampments gone!

I must say;
1). Most of these prices are outrageous, these stores still with these high prices! We avoided a recession by raising the friggin prices!

2). Again, prices: how the fuck do you raise rent prices for structure built in the 1920's!
Where I live, they charge 1000-1500 for a friggin room!
3). You think only homeless are shoplifting? Come where I work........,..stealing right under our noses!

That city money was coming from all those fraudulent traffic tickets and bogus terry stops!

And since when did it matter if you catch a fine, because you're homeless?

The homeless have a bad rap. Not all of them are tweakers. Not all of them live outside the boundaries of the law. Some have jobs but mostly are reasonable folks just trying to get by.
They have names and are human just like you.
I know all about being homeless. Though I have a place of my own, I do not have an address.
I go to great lengths to not appear homeless. The reality of it to some folks is, well, they cant hang.
As soiyn as a person learns your homeless, out goes any kind of respect.
Ppl treat you different. Like you've got a disease. They speak down to you. Theyre just different.
Stackem and packem bldgs aren't the answer. Housung for a year isnt the solution. They make your u go to a shelter or detox BEFORE they get housung. I know folks that have been waiting months and months for housing. I had an outreach worker tell me the other day she didn't have information on housing and to call 211.

They didnt help then when i asked, so I dug my heals in. That was ten years ago.
