Interesting! I’m somali and recently did a 23andme DNA test. It stated 92% somali which I already expected due to non somali ancestry from my paternal side.
My paternal great grandmother was 1/2 Ethiopian and 1/2 Turkish. The rest of my DNA results were 5.1 % Ethiopian & Eritrean, 2.4% North west Asian and 2.4% Iranian & Mesopotamian. So I’m wondering if this Mesopotamian ancestry is linked to the migration that was explained in this video OR the Turkish ancestry from my paternal side due to Ottoman links to Harar in Ethiopia?

I’m not understanding why Somalis, who have 40-45% West Eurasian DNA, I’m not seeing a substantial amount of West Eurasian DNA in any of the figures proposed as the components or their “racial” types. I see an Elmenteitan, who looks mixed race…his DNA is about 45% Mideast according to DNA studies but yet he’s only at 25% in this breakdown so let’s say he passes on 11% Mideast (give or take a few % for recombination).

The proto-Nilotic is obviously a Nilotic African, the Omotic is obviously an Omo African and we were told both of those add up to the Sub-Saharan African component of Somalis, which at the explained 50% pre-Nilotic and 15% Omotic, it’s already at 65% (too high SSA already, it should be about 55-60%) and the only non-Africans I’m seeing is only 8% Arabian/Semitic and 2% ancestral North African (I hope this is not actual Ancestral North African known as ANA, because that’s an SSA-like component found as an admixture in Iberomaurusians like Taforalt…and if so, then this has to be reworked), so add those two to the 11% Mideast from the Elmenteitan and we get 21% West Eurasian. That’s not adding up to what it should be, it should be 40-45% West Eurasian, not 21%. It’s way too low and the there should be a West Eurasian type in the place of the Elmenteitan.

That’s about 82% West Eurasian, 18% SSA (it’s actually similar to modern North Africans, the WE/SSA proportions).

The admix would have taken place before the elementeitan DNA sample this is basing this breakdown on and it was the proto-Cushitic (a predominantly West Eurasian type of about 82% West Eurasian ancestry and 18% SSA) that would have mixed with the pre-Nilotic/Omotic.

So the breakdown should be about 45% pre-Nilotic, 35% proto-cushitic (about 5% of that is SSA), 8% Arabian/Semite and 2% Ancient North African (I hope that’s not real ANA, because it wouldn’t be West Eurasian).

So that allows 30% West Eurasian from the proto-cushite, 8% West Eurasian from the Arabian and 2% West Eurasian from the Ancient North African (unless it’s real ANA) for a total of 40% West Eurasian, equal to what has been shown for Somalis in DNA studies.

The proto-cushite should replace the Elmenteitan and look non-African like the Arabian and ancestral North African.

All in all, there should be 40-45% West Eurasian DNA represented in the results. I’m not trying to be rude, I really like the video and all Ancestralbrew’s videos, they are great … but I just don’t see the 40% WE here. An explanation would be great.
