the photo on the right is blown out and way to saturated and sharp. looks way too overbaked, could have gone with a lower brightness and desaturated the background bc theres just so much going on it hurts my eyes

That's a great tutorial, I might add that if anyone wants to go the extra mile and have more control over the keying you can use pen tools to mask sharp edges (clothing, skin etc) and use chroma keying for hair, beard and stuff like wool, by keeping it separate you can fine tune and keep pretty much every strand of hair (yes, even the blurry bits) while having the edges of the face sharp
Remember that if you are changing the skin tone while removing the green hue you might want to mask out some parts of the image (edges usually gets way more green hue than the center of the subject, so you might use inner glow to mask out the area of effect of your green desaturation, the same mask you can use to "color the edges" with the bg colour, which gives a more natural look since a coloured bg will give you coloured rimlight)
You may not need to do all of this, especially for a small profile picture, just know that it's there of you'll ever do a bigger project, and compliments to Harris and his team for making these somewhat advanced tecniques easier for photography newcomers.

So uh, Sam is smart.
