I Filed For Bankruptcy After Lularoe And Now Work 2 Jobs

I remember growing up in NorCal in a lower income community and the MLMs were incessant. Candles, nail wraps, Mary Kay, stickers, jewelry, scrapbooking. They target low income communities that are looking for a way out of poverty. They are left with stock they are rushed to sell for pennies and leaving us in a cycle and debt and poverty.

I was shocked and shouldn’t have been when I learned the family behind LuLaRoe are Mormons. They are big in MLM. Scentsy is another one owned by Mormons. Same scam, the consultants are the customers.

A pyramid scheme lady in my building said she had some meeting she wanted me to go to. I told her that if it was anything like the Amway old man at work dragged me to, I was not interested. She assured me. Low and behold, it was worse. Basically, you buy in for $2,000. Once you get 6 other people to buy in, you get your $2,000 back. There was no product or service. My table was supposed to buy dinner. The Mexican lady at my table said, "we don't do that at our table." I left, and M chased me out. After I heard about them getting busted, I called the police and gave them her info. And then I left her a voicemail, telling her the police were on the way. karma

She wasn't doing it right. They earn 99% of their income by recruiting not selling.

At the end it said that she filed bankruptcy in 2019 and it would take her 5!years to pay off her debts. Why would she have such debt if she filed chapter 7 bankruptcy?

She’s the perfect product of the consumer society - taught nothing in school about how financial systems operate or financial management, probably exposed to constant advertising while she was growing up, in a world where the messaging given to young people is that your character isn’t worth developing - it’s what kind of stuff you have that matters. She’s the perfect fodder for MLMs, and of course she’ll be prone to getting taken in by their cultish tactics; she’s their perfect prey. Yes, she was foolish, maybe she still is - any update on her MLM career? - but she was basically programmed that way.

Having watched several of these videos, I wish Vice would have said how much they're actually spending with Lularoe monthly as well as how much they are "making".

The shopping addiction--that's what's driving her be so self-destructive. As of May 2021 she was working in two MLMs. She's going through this financially ruinous cycle all over again. It's the addiction that is driving this. And the addiction is due to some serious unresolved problems in her psyche, probably going back to childhood. This is a woman who is in desperate need of good therapy to break these self-destructive habits driven by her shopping addiction.

It seems Lularoe has broken many lives and families rather than helping the community. It destroyed the community..
