Don't do this please i did and it and water leaked inside there is a reason you use oem weather stripping its designed for it.
ОтветитьHow did you fill the hole that you made ?
ОтветитьCaulk Saver! So does that make the installer who has to massage the piping into the weather seal the Caulk Teaser?
Ответитьi HATE videos that do NOT show the entire process🤬did YOU go inside and around with 1 full pcs or did YOU do it in sections and it looks like YOU have 2 pcs's inside the bottom strip so did YOU do 2 pcs's EVERYWHERE???
ОтветитьLMC truck sells weatherstripping also. Not too expensive.
ОтветитьWasn’t the weatherstripping making bumpy rides- there are bushings under the suburban attached to frame. Replace those and no more bumpy ride. Also helps to replace bushings on wheel areas too.
ОтветитьGreat young man
ОтветитьHUM, just saw this, now THAT is a GREAT IDEA, I'm always looking to use stuff designed for something else for another issue
ОтветитьI nearly died when I learned that my 2002 PT Cruiser was leaking water at all the doors and the hatch like a sieve. Will this hack work to keep rain out?
ОтветитьCover the holes with gasket maker and you are good.
ОтветитьNo.
ОтветитьPerfect!
ОтветитьGoing to try that! On the highway, the wind whistles loudly right next to me ear.
Same with passenger side.
I wonder if you can just use dish soap as the lube?
How did this hold up over a few years?
ОтветитьGreat Hack!!!!!!
Ответитьi cant BELIEVE how much they want for new weather stripping!! yikes!
ОтветитьI've done this before, it was long enough ago I forget which car it was, but it was specifically a hatchback so it may have been my old Mazda 626, Honda Accord Wagon or Mazda 6. All hatches.
ОтветитьI have a 2004 Tacoma and the driver's door weatherstripping is all dried out so I ordered a new one. So can I, or should I, do this fix before even installing the new weatherstripping? It seems like it would be easier?
Ответитьmake sense !
ОтветитьThat’s pretty smart. Good job.
ОтветитьI can’t like it enough
Ответитьthanks...........got a 30 year old car and it shakes rattles and rolls
ОтветитьI like your vids. Direct, you get to the point. No needless crap to watch that gives no value. Good job man...
ОтветитьHi where I can get that bag of stripes you had in your hand because for my truck it's very expensive. Thanks
ОтветитьNot trying to sound smarter, the trade name is '' backer rod " love your vids.
Ответитьthanks for joking.
ОтветитьUsing a good external car vinyl dressing. It prevents the weatherstripping from wearing out as saying. It also maintains its soft texture.
ОтветитьThe stash makes you look like a 70’a super porn star.
ОтветитьSpray foam?
ОтветитьIt's called Backer Rod. Its original purpose is to provide shape to the backside of a caulk joint. Good job think up this solution.
ОтветитьAmazing 🎉🎉
Ответитьyou fill both strips:-the door and on the body ? or only one strip- door OR body?
ОтветитьYou ROCK!
Ответитьgreat video but why must you shout at me
ОтветитьAll strikers are adjustable. If It is not leaking water or wind tighten up the strikers.
ОтветитьOKay weatherstrip pros: why don't you just produce solid weatherstripping instead of hollow??
ОтветитьThank you so much...!😖😳🤔
You got the solution for my problem..!😖😳
I love you¤▪︎☆○•°~`♡🌙🕋💝🔭🔬⚖️🩺🇵🇸☝️👌👍🥰😘 😇
Good idea. Fluid Film is a good lube for that. It's Lanolin not Petroleum based which damages rubber.
ОтветитьI wonder if this fix holds up over time?
ОтветитьWell done Great idea. From Cyprus
ОтветитьThis looks like a genuinely great fix
ОтветитьAs an IT guy, I've had to fish my fair share of wires through tight spaces, including sharp corners and conduit installed by the lowest bidder that sent out the guy that didn't know what they were doing and... well, you get the idea. We used a BUNCH of wire pulling lube to do the jobs, and I can't help but wonder if it would help in this aplication. The benefits are that it's water based and will eventually evaporate and completely non-toxic so it's also safe to have around pets and small children, both of whom I've seen licking weather stripping.
I'm about to replace the weather stripping on my own 20yo car because it's ripped apart and not worth saving, but after watching this I plan on doing the same just because my car still rattled a bit when new. Thanks!
Great hack, we always learn something new no matter how old we are. Thank you!
ОтветитьClosed cell LDPE foam cord will degrade, but slower than the rubber seals. You also need to treat the rubber with a preservative to prevent cracking and ripping. .
ОтветитьIntriguing idea. Looks practical the more i think about it.
ОтветитьCaulk saver😂
ОтветитьEven without seals the doors shouldn't bang/rattle around like that the car must be a piece of crap with body flex
ОтветитьThis hack is perfectly true
ОтветитьThanks for the info, I will give it a try.
