Canonically Michael is the character you play as in every game except UCN, technically it's even likely that you play as mike in fnaf 4, as the crying childs bedroom isnt even the slightest bit similar to the bedroom in the game besides the fact that it has a bed, a dresser, and a lamp.

I’m seeing a lot of interpretations so I’ll say this: from what I can tell by the video description, the character in chains was William afton, and golden freddy (either Cassidy or c.c.) made him go through everything mike went through as punishment for killing him
