People met IRL just like it had always been pre internet. Video and television ads were highly uncommon ways to date. Almost no one did that.

This takes me back when I was a youngster &! Remember those commercials & even Freddy Krueger had is own 800 hotline, etc. watching the clips in this video makes me feel old & I’m only 44 & next year in April I’ll be 45, etc. I remember when me & some of friends used to dial those 800 numbers on pay phones just to giggle at the recordings of those girls saying those sexual words, etc. I remember those dating game shows as well. Those were the good old days. Now I’m an old man lol.

This topic was fun, you gotta have nerve to go to the video "self promotion", some of those videos are like the advertisement for a person you wouldn't like to date haha. It's very interesting how we have a huge advantage with technology, but we keep being a bit awkward.

Going to the bar or concerts, and church is where people met mates. Not too many people did the singles ads or video ads unless you were a weirdo.
