Before the GOP budget bill passed the House, Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries spoke for nearly 40 minutes on the House floor during debate, decrying the legislation.
In one testy exchange, Jeffries called out the Republican presiding over the process — Rep. Steve Womack, R-Ark. — for admonishing him during his remarks.
Jeffries responded to Womack saying, “I don’t work for you, sir. I work for the American people."
