Understanding the Support Role from a 10k MMR Player's Perspective

I think the reason my winrate on pos5 is so much higher than on pos4 is because I know when to abandon my carry and trilane with my offlaner and pos4 on the offlane (always nice when the mid rotates too). The issue I run into while playing pos4 is that my pos5 will continue babysitting the carry 8-12 minutes into the match, and my mid will continue to passively farm mid for even longer. If I'm not playing in a bracket where my hard support or mid (reliably) understands the importance of pressuring the enemy carry, should I be prioritizing heroes that can at least gank mid? I find that midlane ganks are much harder to execute because of the tower proximity and high ground darkness. So youre trying to kill the strongest guy on the enemy team with everything stacked against you.

hi! first off thanks for this amazing content. im really looking forward to seeing more of this in depth stuff. if you care i want to say its extremely exhausting to watch if you pause the replay every other second and is very distracting. i think it would be alot more accessible if you could let it play a bit and pause for explanation. seems especially weird when the replay is running speed up

In lower brackets problem is that many cores after lanning stage dont consdier pressuring and most of them just go afk farm :( (I mean all of them)

Your videos should not be fast forwarded
Just play at normal speed when you are talking instead of pausing and unpausing. It gives a very bad viewing experience

thats a decent material, thx from support to support! the only thing im doubting here is the video shows pretty much snowballing game, when the matchup on the line were favourable to be aggresive. I wonder if you can show how to play from behind, being in the team who wants the game to turn late and just trying to respond the push without loosing map (+ as @Thesinistereyes1 mentioned melee 4pos would be great for such kind of review).

As a core only player I'm watching this for one reason and one reason alone - So I can pinpoint every single mistake my worthless dog of a player supports are doing and flame them relentlessly until the game devolves into a screaming match like we are in my country's parliament.

do you have quick casts for any spells or items? I feel like every rubick's spell is great with quick cast. Maybe not the stolen spells.

As a support main who's never been calibrated, your advice is wrong.

what if you group as 4 and your core afk farm and then they beat you because enemies are 4 or 5.

That's a great video. But please if you have something to say, pause the video. Say it. Then resume the video The way you do it, pause and resume randomly while talking is distracting as hell. OFC I am excluding the parts where you explain a positioning.

I always tend to check the wards on the enemies' supp so I can guess whether he puts a ward to block camp or block the camp using his hero. And, always buys 2 sentry wards! When you win the pulling game, the chance of you winning the lane is high.

I play at a lower MMR and if the cores are not interested in engaging the enemy even when we have the power spike, what am I supposed to do? Ultimately they will start blaming the supports when we loose as they have the items by farming the jungle. If we hit creeps or NC, they will start complaining the supports are farming NC instead of ganking. Can two supports fight or push in mid game?

As a Herald support player, I suggest always be ready to carry the game. Cause your carry will either keep on farming when 5 enemies dead.. or he will DC after 30-40 mins farming

Makes sense. How do you play from the opposite ends though? What would you do when your opponent does what you did?

I wouldn't say I'm "new" but I'm certainly not a seasoned vet either. I wish I could even begin to understand and implement all this but I often feel like the carries im supporting know less than even I do. I really wish people would make content designed for people to work around mouth breathing casuals cuz it often doesn't matter what I do. People just run it down lane sometimes and my job is babysitting trying to keep a dude alive that's ultimately just going to feed his brains out come mid game anyways.

this doesnt work in lower mmr.. where people dont know how to group, I've played games vs nyx/riki/clinkz told them just be close together so we can counter ganks. They just kept feeding being solo killed on locations without sentry
