Currently reading/listening to 40K lore, plan on buying some sets and considering these sets and black templars, open to suggestions/tips. I'm just now dipping my toes into it.
Ответитьfor teens? Bro I am 37.
ОтветитьSo no Decals in the box ? 🤷🏽♂️
ОтветитьJust picked up the ultimate starter for only $200 AUD
ОтветитьBuying the most expensive starter set is basically substituting more character models (alot more) for some terrain. Personally I don't see this as a win. Leviathan is better for new starters who want to grow an army.
ОтветитьWelcome to the Shill Zone! 🤑
ОтветитьIs that the exact same terrain as the last box?
ОтветитьThought the Starter Set section was misleading showing painted figures. Remember we are talking about potential newbies who are looking at getting their first figures and trying the game. Also I would certainly guess the painted figures are not using paints limited to that provided in the basic set. I appreciate wanting to show your well painted figures off but is this really the place? Not trying to be disheartening, hopefully this comment is seen as constructive.
ОтветитьI’m just happy to see your ‘Oz Tax’ finally being eliminated ?
ОтветитьGoes it have the mission cards in it?
ОтветитьThey’re dollar bucks not dollaradoos, that’s just silly.
ОтветитьWas going to get the leviathan set... Not worried about price, it's 300 dollars in Canada.. should I still get that? I can build terrain too
Ответитьbut last two dont have paints so if someone new you have to buy all the paints which make it very expensive
ОтветитьThanks for the review, my brother and I are gonna give this box set a go….i like they way the painter swapped the color pallet between the armies!
ОтветитьY after staring with the Leviathan set I almost wish I waited because would be nice to start with terrain and matts and such
ОтветитьYoung gamers???? What about old gamers like myself
ОтветитьOr you could just buy a Battletech box set for 20-25 bucks, call it a day and stop supporting the outrageously overpriced Warhammer 40k until prices....come down.
ОтветитьI've got the middle starter set last week. This box is perfect for me because i already started the hobby and purchased all the tools, paints and 1 box of intercessors as a starting point months ago. Now that i want to start playing with an actual army, the middle starter set gives me a terminator squad, a captain and an infernus squad. I've paid 55 euros for the box at my local 3rd party retailer since it was on sale and i also had some points from my previous purchases for extra discount.
So for someone like me this box is perfect to give some structure to my army which i can finetune with separate purchases in the future.
Also hope the do this with their other systems.
ОтветитьA step in the right direction. Not sure if I am coming back as quit at 4th edition. But a starter set is a great move. Hopefully they come out with more and add the core book to other sets too.
ОтветитьSpace marines and tyranids are my favorite factions so this set is right up my alley
ОтветитьYou just forgot Europes existence 😢
Ответитьi would be tempted to just get the cheapest starter set just to paint the tyranids. i collect astra militarum so dont want to add too much to the pile of shame XD
ОтветитьWhat happened to the race of Dwarfs.😢
ОтветитьAssault on Black Reach the best, 80 bucks for a dred, 5 terminators, spacemarine tact squad and captain, and whatever else the orks had.
ОтветитьAre these snapfit minis or more traditional?
Ответитьit feels like the middle set is perect in a way.
I dont care about terrain( which probably makes almost half the price)
The best starter set still has to be blood bowl I guees
Ответить"...this time, they've got three." Uh, 8th and 9th edition would like to have a conversation with you. lol.
ОтветитьHi just wondering if the blood angel space marines are good for a starter
ОтветитьI got my Leviathan box for $215 and sold the nids for $100. $115 for a 1k point army, rule/lorebook, mission deck etc ..im happy with that lol
Ответитьthese boxs are terrible
ОтветитьNot worth 200 and far from the best starter box smh
Ответитьme and my two friends recently got into the hobby earlier today! my friends shared the first intrudoctory box as one of them wants the tyranids and the other wants the space marines and i bought a small tau package!
ОтветитьUmmm can't say this is the best starter box they've ever made, I like the orc and space marines one they did years ago
ОтветитьStarter boxes aren't just for new players, it's also for veteran players, they are too much value to not buy
ОтветитьVery important thing to note, the softcover rule book is better than the slimmed down, hardcover 'The Rules' book because the softcover one has combat patrol missions in the back whereas The Rules doesn't have them at all.
ОтветитьHe minis look great, although I intend to get the mid range starter set as its got those new terminators and I am unable to get them in any other way currently
ОтветитьLeviathan Cost 150
Ultimate Starter Cost 125 with a change of 5 Sternguard, 10 Neurogaunts, and Data Cards for a not so good looking terrain 😥
Idk about you guys but I'd rather get the Levi Box for 25 more with more models and cards and dice tray that is more useful in game..
Heya. Great video. I have a question. My son has shown an interest in 40k and I’d like to support him in this (disclaimer I’m getting seriously hooked into the lore myself) however he’s turning 8 in August and I’m not sure if it’s too early for him? The actual game seems pretty complex even to me, and maybe way way out of his reach, also some of the themes are very dark and perhaps not suitable yet? Would you suggest just getting a few models and paints and just starting out like that? Then he can discover more about it as he grows?
Cheers.
TO me the terrain field makes just no sense. its too small for that big of a battle and you cannot properly manouver so all matches end in a quick moshpit in the middle. so in my eyes its a useless addition
ОтветитьThe introductory set is brilliant. It gives an actual full introduction to the hobby to someone who is curious about the hobby.
The starter set is a trap.
The ultimate box is almost perfect. I’d say the lack of a full core book with all the lore detracts from the box. All of these boxes are nominally for beginners getting started in the hobby. If you are new, getting those 200 plus pages of lore and art really helps to immerse you in the world. Still, given that GW stopped including the full core book in starter sets ages ago, it probably is one of the best starters they’ve made.
Are the models push fit?
ОтветитьThe new terrain seams pretty shit compared to the old expansion set
ОтветитьTerrain is also not new - came out with Nachmund. It's quite a boring inclusion really
Ответитьnice merchandise spoiler based in gw win win .....
ОтветитьMy Leviathan set came at $214. $14 less than the ultimate starter. And at least you get more Space Marines and Tyrants then the starter. I would also say that 9th edition had a better terran setup then 10th edition, which looks cheap.
ОтветитьPaid by gw😊
