I'm still homeless I been out here going on 2yeaes and ever place I went to get help for housing turn me down me and dog we are living in a tent clod every night because the City comes every other day picking up my blanket food my hi Jean my wood to keepe warm all my paperwork id social security card birth certificates and I every other day I have to go out and try to find blankets food to the I filled out applications and applications for housing I haven't heard from them and it's been two years I've been applying she's not trying to help us homeless and all I need is a little help I can pay my own bills when I get into a place I do have an income I have can you find a place cuz I can't find you clean nowhere it's too cold to shower and then somebody's front we don't have family here in Albuquerque p RC cars come around and say help with homeless they don't ever stop just thinking it should be more helpful as homeless people I can't afford clothes and blankets every day please stop taking our stuff not going to help us we have to sleep somewhere and keep and hope to stay warm please City of Albuquerque stop taking our it's bad enough I don't think that's fair to me or nobody else out here that's it thank you guys

Born and raised in New Mexico, I lived in the war zone on the corner of copper and Texas in 1999-2000. This was definitely a dangerous place. People getting killed nearly every day back then. But ya, there didn't really used to be homeless around. They would stay away from the dangerous places.

I’m from burque born and raised I’m from SanJo Broadway and Gibson se I lived in the zone all over my city never lived in the west side or ne every where else yeah! I’ve lived on Rhode Island, Chico , Dallas and Zuni and Pennsylvania you can cruise thru central but you guys just tourist you really don’t know the real deal of the zone or my city you really gotta be out here to know everyday and day and night another thing you guys are driving thru walk our streets it’s differences! In this video it seems dead the war zone normally popping people everywhere like sombies all dope up just like it use to be ack in the day in the stixs

If you really want to see some shit then come back around 11:00 pm. I used to live right in that area and that isn’t the war zone.

The homeless in Abq are paying protection to the local gangs for permission to panhandle on every street corner on Central and other streets. Don’t think for a minute the streets in Albuquerque aren’t dangerous. I carry everywhere I go in this shithole…….

I Was born there and I grew up in those neighborhoods. It was okay until the late 70s. I left as soon as I turned 18. Not good. I was there a year ago and it just keeps getting worse.

U guys were there too early incthe daytime. Around 7pm is when the crazies come out. As far as gangs, our street gang era was in the 80s to the early 2000s. During those times, someone wouldve definitely followed u. Drugs have taken over. And as far as the weak drugs comment u guys made, find the right guy, and youll get the strongest deadliest shit you've ever had lol

The crime in ABQ is high, but not nearly as bad as some people make it out to be. I lived there for the past 4 years and have driven by the so-called “war zone” which are simply streets off Central east of San Mateo. During the day it looks no different than any other low income neighborhoods. Just a lot of hype, and you’re feeding it further.

I lived on Texas, and one night my neighbor killed himself after he shot his girlfriend. It was swatted and we were in lock down all night. Needless to say they did use crack. I got out after one lease. I love Albuquerque. The gov. just banned guns...What?

The whole place is a hood. Should give New Mexico back to Mexico

Don't see any tents or drugs users , looks ok to me, you should go to New York or California, its a Democart paradise.

The war zone is not what it used to be. Back before APD got its hands tied, they kept all the bad to 3 or 4 areas of Burque. You didn't want to be there after 3pm. After the doj came in for that Boyd incident. APD was not able to be as aggressive about keeping the bad in specific areas. So now it's spread out into more places, and all of it is a no go after sundown. Unless you are in a place where people watch out for each other.

Ahhh and at the end now and you missed the heart of the war zone, you were basically at the “family” part which can get bad but it mainly people who can’t afford or have the background/credit to live in other places, so basically no back ground check and cheap area. If you thought that was bad the heart of the war zone even while driving will feel dangerous. People will follow and bother you.

This area is where the prostitutes are. They dont bother folks because thats where they get their money. The gang neighborhoods are actually in the South Valley.

I like to call the warzone "Das Hood"....No matter what lawmakers or anyone tries to rename it as the international district, It will always be known as the warzone...scars that the government created that can never heal.

Ive noticed that to people who are not used to seeing or being around the gutter shall i say find the war zone extra bad and full of "Bad Hombres". But maybe because I am used to the gutter scene and the other side of the fence as people say. The war zone is what you make it, if you want to get into peoples business and make waves then the war zone will chew you up and vomit you out, but if you see no evil, speak no evil , and hear no evil you most likely will be ok. Lol you should go through that same area at night especially a Central and Pennsylvania area. It is pretty bad but there is a lot of good culture beautiful areas and amazing food places here in Albuquerque not all bad.

ive seen a guy get chased by another guy with a gun, off the freeway bridge onto copper ave. not sure what happened to the guy but that is a good example of why i didnt like walking to my friends house at night, wasn't a fan of always keeping my head on a swivel and carrying a knife on me but i always kept to myself and never got caught up into anything on my own(thankfully).

I've lived in Albuquerque for 5 yrs and work st a Circle K on Central. This place sucks, it's nasty, the people are all stuck on phentynal. They all walk around like zombies and stealing is their job. That and begging for money on the side if the road since they made panhandling legal here! Btw dude, you're the ONLY person who uses their blinkers in Albuquerque! The drivers here all got their licenses from the fake dmv!!! All those people are idiots!! Albuquerque sucks and I'm on my way out if here!!!
