There is a word that fits Frank and that is SIMP. I am not the least bit sorry for his experience. He deserved it and I can't believe it only cost him $17K USD. That is a cheap lesson and he had some good fun for a little while. But sending money before meeting in person tells you everything you need to know right there about both of them. Never do that or even discuss what money you have or earn. Nothing. If they even bring it up is a major red flag. What business is that of anyone? Then he lets them walk all over him. He is one gigantic pushover (not the word I really wanted to use). Meeting a woman on a dating app is fraught with risk and misunderstandings. They have a checklist and are going through profiles checking boxes and you are the prey. You also need to have a realistic assessment of your own worth. An old man (fat) thinking a hot Filipina is attracted to you is the height of hubris. You really should have paid a higher price. Consider yourself very lucky, and stupid.

There are thousands upon thousands of very lonely men going to the Philippines looking for a good woman to be their wife. A huge majority of them will get severely scammed, including the really knowledgeable guys who think they know what they're doing. At least find and talk to a reputable attorney before marrying your beautiful precious.

Did u know that even if it's not registered, since you admitted here and announced that you two got or were married, then that proofs the document and they can chase you in court for more money . Be careful what you disclose , that can fire back at you really hard mate .

I've got 30+ years of experience in Vietnam and Thailand and I'll be visiting PI soonish. I think I'm going to use the "3 day rule". With the first drink I'm going to tell them I'm previously married and divorced and landed up raising my kids myself. Now I'm completely uninterested in anything except a casual short-stay relationship and I'm a butterfly for life. I too was burned many times with bullshi. stories and spending way too much money. It's a lesson that most of us have to learn the hard way I guess.
