I don’t care what people think this is the best mortal kombat movie

Okay but the idea of a random dude getting special powers after running over one of the champions and then finding he now has to participate in the Mortal Kombat tournament would actually be so funny.

I’m no movie critic I enjoyed movie over pg13 version not crazy about tattoo giving them powers and cole still like it

The movie should be called Mortal Sparring, not Mortal Kombat.

I was thinking earlier that this film would work better if it was two films.
In first it could go with this girl, Keno, this two cousins and jax where we learn more about them and all this mortal combat wr can keep things like jax and his metal arms, Kane getting his lazer eye, get better view at girl learn more abaut cousins history and show better how good villians are, and the second film would be where they looking for other with the simbol get that moment of betrey of Kane and death of cousin and have time for main fight.

I felt bad for natara in general.. her character arc could’ve had a stand alone movie on its own.. talking about saving her own realm then joining the tournament afterwards..

the problem is that not only did they hire bad writers, they hired bad writers who didn't know the lore or give a rat's a55 about it

Well, Hiroyuki Sanada and Joe Taslim are better martial artists compared to Louis Tan. And bothe of them can emote better than him even when they have masks on their face in the final fight.

That's the thing with most American Hollywood directors, they always wasted potential martial artist talents in movies by casting them as unimportant side characters to give way to new actors and actresses. Look how they did to most martial artists like Tony Jaa, Iko Uwais, Hiroyuki Sanada and even Scott Adkins, all of their talents wasted in Hollywood movies, while they all shine in Asian markets.

This movie fucking sucks

The whole movie was shit, the acting, the cheesiness was unbearable, the over acting, the terrible facial expressions, there was more special effecta than actual fighting choreography, i can keep going

I was watching it and left it halfway through 💀just a personal note, literally all my favorite characters die. The characters were corny and the dialogue sucked, I don't know what else to say

Mortal Kombat 2021 is LAUGHABLY BAD, it literally gets everything wrong and I'm not overxaggerating, whoever made this movie probably played the games but skipping all the cutscenes and context behind them. I seriously hope they don't make a sequel and if they do they BETTER retcon the first movie ENTIRELY

Bro, obviously you don’t know about budgets and movies the budget was not that big that’s why the movie was short. I guarantee you in the second movie it’s gonna be a lot more flushed out but anybody that’s a fan of Mortal Kombat knows these characters background it took marvel, 20 movies to flush out Thanos

You summed it up this whole review. As a massive MK fan I was looking forward to the movie despite some criticisms of how some characters are especially the boring ass new protagonist. I didn't care for it at all and I can't believe they going to make a sequel to this

I actually watched this today. I wanted to like it, but did not .The acting was bad, the fighting was not up to the games fighting. Goro is supposed to be the last boss fight. Instead they killed him off early. It was a waste of a character. The first mortal kombat movie was far superior to this one.

Yeah it was a bad movie. I am old enough to remember the first game. I have a bit of an interest with gaming and don't mind the games. But I don't know a massive amount about them. I just watched the movie from a film goers perspective whilst. Recognising who most of the characters were. And as a a stand alone film this was boring.

4. Why is that guy who's never been in a game become the main character?

6. This movie insults the Mortal Kombat name(just like what Uwe Boll did to FarCry)
7. This movie insults me as a Mortal Kombat fans

9. They wasted Goro, Kitana, Reiko... probably every character in that movie(except for Cole Young)

I agree. Nitara who i was hyped to see gets murked like a random background character. Baby girl is a skilled fighter and can fly and do all sorts of stuff.

Reptile, he doesn't say anything, gets killed off by Kano somehow and bros hand was literally melting off. Reptile who had a shitty ass Reptile form in 1995 as soon as he turns human he starts whooping ass against the chosen one and was struggling with him yet somehow they made him into a nobody.

Kung Lao gets killed again because the writers know he's not safe anywhere.

Goro who is respected in the games, is huge, has 4 arms, is a prince, and is the champion of many years somehow lost to a random nobody who doesn't fight well with literally plot amour.

Reiko is a general to Shao Kahn probably is smart in combat and is a general for a reason is just a yelling brute for whatever reason and gets murked easily.

Shang Tsung is just there...i preferred the 1995 one because he looks 20 times more menacing with that face.

Mileena got race swapped and doesn't have her asian features, she's just randomly working for Shang Tsung, doesn't even have her signature colors at all and is just there.....like these are all skilled fighters that people know and love and this is how they get treated?? At least Sub Zero was a whole lot cooler as the main villain...no pun intended lol. Oh yeah and Scorpion is barely in the movie. Shows up in the beginning then shows up in the end....

It was a shiet movie, bad direction. Apart from a couple of scenes it was trash

I haven't wrote anything since an 8th grade summer creative writing class and I'm 100% sure I could have written a better script than this.

I also hate how they just plucked quan chi out of the story. He is one the biggest characters in the franchise and he just got taken out ☠️

What expect from a nostalfan of the 1995 crap, "THAT MOVIES IS MORE FILTHY" to the plot of the first game yeah, to the facts of the same no, 2021 at least respect the gore and some facts despite the plot

Here's the thing about Kano in this movie I actually like him a lot better without the giant thing on his face. I think he looks a lot cooler with just the single red eye. Plus for the new movie I hope they just give him a cybernetic eyeball. If he comes back

I have a problem with the colors in this movie too. And not just the backgrounds. Why is Scorpion barely yellow? Sub-Zero barely blue? Why does Mileena not have a single OUNCE of pink on her? It's fucking lame. What makes these characters stand out a lot is the prevalence of their color schemes, and they do none of that.
