SEGA Saturn wins over all of these : D. And i would say SEGA CD for first Earthworm Jim 1 is also the best for that version
ОтветитьIt's funny to think the Sega Genesis version of Earthworm Jim is debatably better than Super Nintendo, yet with the sequel, it's the other way around.
ОтветитьThe actual logo screen on the SNES version is slightly different. The tune that Jim is playing varies with each chord. Also, might mention that in the beta version of the SNES version, the developers used the Genesis style continue sign.
When I was a kid I though the cow screen was a cheat code thing.
How do you like your steak, mister?
Cow: "Well done!"
Now we know why Nintendo chose to rerelease the Genesis version of Earthworm Jim 1 and the SNES version of Earthworm Jim 2 for Nintendo Switch Online.
ОтветитьEarthworm Jim was released on Sega before it came later to Nintendo
ОтветитьI never knew you could switch weapons on SNES!? I am gonna have to play that now
(I only had a Genesis growing up)
Super Nintendo of course😎🤙
ОтветитьWell Done.
ОтветитьI still prefer the SEGA version :( EWJ was one of the absolute favorite games of my neighborhood growing up, best friends has SNES and I had a genesis. EWJ was our game to try and show off to each other with, not necessarily speedrun but just kinda stylishly run through levels. Us both having the "same" game was still super cool even if there were a handful of differences between them. The soundtrack from the SNES version just sounds wrong to my ears. Thank you for making a cute video that pokes at both of them and scratches all angles of my nostalgia! :)
ОтветитьIm a Sega person but i agree with Nintentdo winning gameplay because of the option to cycle weapons. Seems like really big improvement over Sega when it comes to quality of life.
ОтветитьI can't believe you act like "Jim's now a blind cave salamander" is bad and not based as fuck lol
ОтветитьYou had me at "cropped". :S
ОтветитьSega CD version is the best one !
ОтветитьEarthworm Jim 2 for the SNES have been rereleased on switch online, I wonder why....Ohhh that's right! Interplay thinks it's the best 16 bit port thanks to the end of this video.
ОтветитьI'll be ranking versions of earthworm jim 1 and 2 now. Earthworm jim 1 Rankings:
First best 16 bit version:Genesis.
Second best 16 bit version:SNES.
The Only best CD version:WINDOWs 95.
Best remake:HD from Gameloft.
And for Earthworm jim 2:
Best 16 bit version:SNES (for good instrumentation, Controllable Cow Presentation saying well done however and as long as you want and good backgrounds, and being the first version to allow you to switch weapons.).
Best CD/32 bit version:Sega Saturn.
When it comes to sounds, Sega will always have better drums & bass, and Super Nintendo will always have better strings & symphonies. That's just how it is.
ОтветитьI always thought of Earthworm Jim as a Sega game.
ОтветитьI'm glad I rewatched this. I just beat the 1st one on Sega and was gonna start the 2nd on Sega too but I forgot about the weapon select. I've beat both games on both consoles and they're all great but Sega for 1 and SNES for 2
ОтветитьEWJ 1 - Better on Genesis
EWJ 2 - Better on SNES
И нихрена подобного, лучший звук на Сега, на Нинтенто звук как унылое говно.
ОтветитьPff, easy, PC the best
ОтветитьMaybe someone already said this but you CAN cycle through your weapons on the Genesis version.
ОтветитьThe plague of devs reusing SNes assets on Genesis games...
ОтветитьThe PlayStation port, which contained the same content as the original releases, received a poor review "3/10" score from Computer and Video Games, due to there being no significant improvements despite the obviously more powerful hardware of the PlayStation. not trying to hate it, but that's a fact.
ОтветитьI love the Genesis version, but when I have to play the game, I generally go for the SNES version for one reason only:
I can switch between weapons and store them for later, meaning I can wipe out Psy-Crow with a Barn Blaster.
ps1 anyone?
ОтветитьFran says why not just play both !?
ОтветитьThe best SNES version put on Nintendo Switch Online confirmed!
ОтветитьEarthWorm Jim 2 is better on SNES but EarthWorm Jim 1 is better on Sega Genesis
Ответитьthe simple fact of these systems is if they worked on the same game for the same amount of time they will always end up better on snes its just
more powerful, by a lot in all reality no amount of blast processing will change the tech inside of them.
Another plus for the Genesis version; is that the actual character sprites have slightly more fluid animation and cartoon shading than the SNES version; but overall these two are very close.
ОтветитьThe SNES game is now out for the Nintendo Online Switch.
Nintendo wins... AGAIN!
Earthworm Jim = Sega Genesis
Earthworm Jim 2 = SNES (or any 32bit version)
I always found it strange that Earthworm Jim 2 doesn't make much use of some Sega Genesis features such as the extra resolution (some stages you can even see the cutout with black borders, they really left something to be desired in this version)
Tommy and David Wise are my favorite video game music designers
ОтветитьCan already tell this is my favorite episode.
ОтветитьI have played both versions of this game today on easy. I can honestly say it's a lot better on the Sega Genesis. The Controls & gameplay is really important when it comes to games. I do not care if the Snes one has better graphics or sound. The fact that it's cropped & making the bomb level impossible is a main factor in this game. Switching weapons doesn't make the game easier. I played the Sega Genesis Version & beat it with little to no problem. I died a couple of times on the genesis. Nothing like a game over like I did on the Snes. I couldn't even beat it on the Snes. The controls are that bad.
ОтветитьWell, yeah, maybe, but I play it the way pretty much everyone else does, on the Sega Saturn!
ОтветитьWhen Sega wins "Sega does what nintendon't" because Sega Genesis is always superior. When Super Nintendo wins: "But, but, the Genesis was severely limited by its hardware". F****ckk the segatards logic.
ОтветитьThere is a half-assed quality to the Genesis one for some reason, like that weapon switching button on SNES could have been done with 6-button Sega gamepad support. Shiny was never lazy and tended to use the Genesis hardware well most of the time that I'm going to blame tight scheduling on how it turned out since there was a Saturn port as well.
