i think its so interesting that williams disorder has negative side effects and characteristics, but the main trait is that this "disorder" makes people really happy. like, were associating being the worlds cheerleader as something thats abnormal

She is really pretty and awesome.

I recently met up with a little girl aged 7 with this syndrome. She functioned a lot less well coördinated then this child and couldn’t really speak but she looked and acted so extremely happy. She also had a stroller (which she didn’t need all the time) because she had walking issues too due to het spastic movements. We were walking together when I reached out to her because I thought she was about to fall and was rewarded with a spontaneous big hug. Her father was so sweet with her but said her happy mood is just an illusion because in reality she wasn’t really happy all the time but had so much frustration in her as she couldn’t do most things alone.

The only good disease i know🙄

I couldn’t cope. An enormous burden is being placed on her brother. He will come to resent her in his teens and she won’t understand. Sad…

Man if I could have 10 percent of her fun positive attitude

Bess is an amazing child. She is so loving and kind. Her beautiful energy brought tears to my eyes. She is so innocent, loving and trusting. Thankfully she has great parents who will always make sure that she's safe. What a beautiful family.

She is literally an Angel or God himself(as a figure of her). She's so sweet so we shall protect her at all costs. (do NOT call me cringy because I'm saying the right thing). In fact, I would LOVE to be friends with her if only I knew where she lived. I might not be the oldest or most mature person, but I sure know how to express my feelings and speak in a fine manner. Borderline personality disorder when she 16

This child is an angel, a very bright mind and a great degree of empathy. Somehow I'm sad that he won't have a real friend among people who mostly act out of self-interest and who are bothered by other people's smiles. I wish her all the luck and may the Holy Spirit protect her.

The Happy Syndrome doesn't sound all that bad to me. It's better than the alternatives many people have to endure all their lives. Is there really a "normal" that exists? No, everyone is unique. As long as we enjoy our lives the labels placed upon us are just that...labels. The key to life is joy.

I don't see any problems here. This girl lives on a higher plane than most of us. The lonely, depressed and cynical people of the world will find a problem with her but in truth they're jealous of this girl's light. She shines brighter naturally more than most people can if they tried their hardest. Don't change, stay happy and never give up.
