I really like how Škoda is basically a Volkswagen with a couple of cut corners. Instead of designing an entirely new center console to fit a start button, they just place it in an existing spot where the keyhole would be on a Golf for example. Small stuff like that keep the prices down and makes these cars available for more people. Brilliant.

I’ve worked on it’s brother, the Octavia before. These cars are brutally simple for annual maintenance ie oil change, engine and air intake filters as well as the diesel filter. Would definitely buy one myself!

How about the issues with cracking and leaking sunroofs they had for years? Have they got on top of it already or still officially deny to have such problem and leave the customers hanging, i.e. not standing behind their products and honouring the warranty, but instead asking $5-10k for a repair? The issues with cracking sunroof subframes affect various VAG models and you find reports from customers with VW Golf, Jetta, Passat, Arteon, Skoda Octavia, Yeti, Superb, Audi A3, etc. Google VW Technical Bulletins "MC-10125694-9999.pdf" and "MC-10128041-9999.pdf". It's astonishing read.

I'm an owner of a VW Arteon which feels like a Skoda Superb too (shares the same platform btw). Plenty of boot space and good legroom at the back also 🙂
