the sims 2 is the most detailed game ever released

My ideal game is sims 2 with updated graphics + build/buy/cas from sims 4

I just want more lore that’s what literally makes the game….

just imagine The Sims 2 with The Sims 4 graphics. That would be perfection. Not even the open world would matter.

Build mode = wasn't it fam. It was not it.

The sound design?? = Fuck I love it so much. The click sound is so delicious, the sounds at night are quiet and eery, the sound of stirring a bowl???
Neighborhood? = Foking amaaazing
Game play? = Pretty Eh. Keeping your sims alive without cheats AND actually doing fun stuff is near impossible for me.
Music? = I unironically listen to the soundtrack sometimes.
But every single negative thing you can say about this game is instantly made up by the detail, personality, and charm that oozes out of ever single part of this game.
The sims 4 COULD. LITERALLY. NEVER.

I finally got Sims 2 to work on my new PC and am playing again for the first time in 12 years. Its like falling in love all over again.

Another important thing about the Pleasants is that you can see that both twins were born with the same personality but because Lilith grew up poorly and was mistreated, her personality points have changed.

As someone who has been with this series as an adult from 2000 & Sims 1...... Sims 2 is the Best out of all of them. Not saying I didn't have fun with 1 & 3, but sims 1 was more socially difficult & lacked quite a bit of realistic play such as children growing up & leaving home. Sims 3 could be fun but quality (in my opinion) had already begun to slip considerably & open world seemed to lessen the depth of game play in too many respects . (or maybe devs were just getting lazy) Sims 2 offered our sims rich full lives from birth to grave.
Sims 4 is just a hot mess by comparison, which is a shame because it should have been, could have been so much more.

OK so at this point I think I have an idea that would save EA

They need to start a new project and call it the Sims 2 Legacy edition or something

Then they need to take the entire Sims 2 game maybe split in half because they’re greedy so the base game and however many expansion packs are half and then a second release with the other expansion packs for the second half. Then using all of the same animation and mechanics they need to update the graphics. I think that while time-consuming because everything is already pre-designed it would actually cost them less and consume less time than whatever they’re coming out for the Sims 4

And the campaign could just be like a Sims player sitting down to the Sims 2 and like a Sim knocking on the invisible screen and then simlish they say what’s going on and then it cuts to Sims 2 intro but with updated graphics.

I think that any reasonable Sims player would pay a significant amount of money for this game. And it might give the teams working on upcoming Sims games some inspiration. Not only do I think it would be profitable for EA I think it will be a good shout out to the players cashing in on nostalgia without pandering

I wish I could pitch this to some sort of meeting but I think that they could do this and it would create such a profit, a buzz and a rejuvenation around the Sims which is desperately needed because it’s about to get some competitors and we will get the best of both worlds the Sims 2s amazing detail and the Sims 4 visual quality.

I have very extensive plans about this idea but that’s the general summary

I played the sims 2 last night for the first time in about 3 years. It was so refreshing!

I've seen giant baby in 2 of your videos now but I haven't seen if you ever explained him which makes it so much funnier for me

Maybe I wasn't doing it right, i played original Sims and Sims 2 and never once played the existing characters. Every character I played was from a family I made, a house I built, and I filled a couple of homes and would have the Sims I made interact and form relationships with each other. The other families' lore didn't interest me. I burned out and stopped playing many years ago because it was eating up too much time. I just started playing Sims 4 last month. I still have the disks from Sims 1 and 2, but there is no way to play them? How are people still able to play Sims 2 in 2023?

I absolutely love how chaotic (and actually challenging) Sims 2 was. It was not easy keeping your sims alive and well, much less keeping their relationships. It was a lot of fun. I'll never understand why they got rid of the lore, the memory system, and the more in depth relationship mechanics.

Can we talk about how lame The Sims 4 go ghosts are they're not even scary you can live with a ghost like a normal Sim but in The Sims 2 they actually scare you to death this is one of my most aggravating things about the Sims 4 I wish they would update the ghost to actually be ghost

you are so right and you should say it. i grew up playing the sims 2 and it still is one of my favorite games. All expansions packs I ever had felt meaningful too and like they added gameplay.

One of my favorite things in ts2 is how you can play the entire town at once. I had huge families whose children moved out and had families on their own, everyone marrying a member of another one of my own families. I played with most households to get the time to be correct and age up the parents. You could actually play the game from multiple perspectives at once, and while I do like how later games work too, it just feels so sad to start a new game in the sims 3 or 4 and have only townies in your world. In the sims 2 you had one version of every neighbourhood, and if you were an avid player you ended up with tens of your own families in every neighbourhood. And they could all be friends, fall in love, while you did not miss out on their lives.

you can technically get a similar effect in later games by turning off aging but because time still moves forward I don't feel like it's as much fun to control the entire town.

I could talk for hours about the sims 2, and not to do that, but we had so many fun cheats too. sure, many of them could corrupt your game but boolprop constrainfloorelevation slaps and even though i was too afraid to use most of the boolprop testingcheatsenabled cheats, the things you could do were quite fun.

I just got back into the sims 2 after years of playing Sims 3. I love the sims 3 but unfortunately the game optimization is a mess and laggy even with fixes. When I opened the sims 2 I fell in love with this game all over again. It's so detailed and a lot of love was put into it. And my God it plays so smoothly! that was it for me. Uninstalled all of Sims 3 and continuing to get familiar with this game again. The game isn't perfect with bugs but at least it's manageable with the right mods and tools.

We always want more Sims 2 content!

what i love about the sims 2 is that the game is actually giving you content and story, you have to PLAY WITH IT. the sims 4 is empty and you have to fill it with almost no feedback

This is a bit morbid but watching Cassandra getting spooked to death just reminded me of how much I LOVE that the ghosts in the sims 2 can actually kill your sim lol it kinda gives them a purpose in a way? I can't stand ghosts in the sims 4 bc all they do is break things and make white cake 😭 but the ghosts in the sims 2 are so much more real and scary! They really thought of everything didn't they?

it's amazing how detailed is game from 2004. recently i was playing ts2 and I was amazed by all the stories that are told in this game and how they were told. love 1st and 2nd sims the most and i really like your content.

Plumbella keeps mentioning the sims 3 intro and how it lies when it shows celebrities. Se refers to a scene where a girl is signing autographs. That is in the base game! On the max level of the music career on the rock star branch your sim can have a career task of signing autographs outside the theater.

Sims 2 is my favourite and is still fun to play now

The ui is so much easier to navigate in Sims 2. Having to scroll in some sections in 4 can make it hard to find things and miss them.

Cooking in Sims 2 made me want to cook. The Sims 4 impression is spot on. It would at least make sense if only goofball like sims cooked like that, but everyone doing it is odd and annoying.

You get bonus points if you have a hot tub and the head master gets in!

I love the Sims 2. I love the random things to do. I love the school bus, burglars, police, and just it all. I loved that crazy spin ride thing. I mean like why would anyone have that... no idea but it was so fun for my Sims to just jump on and try.

I had to get the game to recognize my graphics card but now I am back with TS2 and I could not be happier!!! It's really sad to see how far TS4 strayed away from the life simulation gameplay being the focus of the game in comparison to the gameplay included (FOR FAR LESS $$$) in TS2.

It’s funny, even if it feels the Sims 3 got a bit greedy with the Sims Store, it was still miles ahead a better experience than Sims 4 gameplay

thats not why brandis kid is always a clone of her. skip is marked as "unlinked" in the game files and you can get the baby with mixed genes from both their parents if you use simPE to link skips 3d data back to his character manually (its literally just putting a 1 in place of a 0 in one box). if she was impregnated with herself skip wouldnt show up as the father in the family tree

I’m glad to see that you’ve modded the game with CleanUI and stuff because right off the bat that shows your love for the game. So many Sims 4 Simmers play Sims 2 vanilla to ‘test what it’s like in 2023’ and then complain about the graphics. Yeah, it was made 20 years ago! But modding it makes the graphics way more modern so thank you. 😊

How can I download sims 2?

They really used to put their whole simussy into games back in the early 2000s. And this doesn't even go into how genetics work! (Marticore has good video about that). Sims 2 will always be the MVP for me.
