Deadly Premonition 2 - The Most Disappointing Sequel Ever

It blew my mind to find out this was released in 2020 and was not a remake release on the switch. It was straight up released, for the first time, on switch in July of 2020. The pc port came about a year later in June of 2022. This is a current gen game, released for current gen hardware.

This is why Sharknado is not remotely as interesting as the B-movies it's pretending to be.

I find that the second game is very much a case where someone had a beginning and ending in mind, but had no idea how to connect the two nor have to turn it into a video game.

I always thought that dissection murder method in Hannibal was a reference/homage to "The Cell," which is probably the most underrated horror movie of all time. Despite its underwhelming performance from Jennifer Lopez, it's still probably a top 5 GOAT for me. Vincent D'onofrio almost went insane researching his part, and you can tell. Highest recommendation possible.
All that aside, good video. Earned a thumb from me.

As someone from the area surrounding where the game takes place, it was constantly painful hearing the faux-french/cajun pronunciations in the game and the narration. Fleur de lis? Floor deh lee. Le Carré? Lay carray (with a little roll on the r(s)). Not floor dih liz, or lou car ray.

But it's okay. Hopefully you get some food while you're perusing the area. Iz good and yummeh :)

Watching this video from beginning to end made me realized why I stopped playing this game when it was avaiable on Switch. It was up to the second chapter where I gave up and went to play another game. These effin' missions were a snail's pass of wasting ingame time just to make progress. Hearing you say you stopped playing for a year, I feel your pain.

I bet the inspiration for the ice encased body was from Dexter. I think it's either season 1 or 2, but his long lost brother drains his victims' blood and skillfully cuts the body into smaller pieces and preserves them in a refrigerated truck.
