Thanks for this. Love this programme. Glad they have another series coming up next year. Do you have any more of Brendan talking? Just love him.

i love the piece of music in the background, which is also the closing theme, what is it called and who is it by? Sounds like a John Lunn piece of music??

@HenryDavidT During some moment watching one of the episodes I thought...Mary had the impulse toward 'modernity', mostly displayed as a rebellious streak (and mostly against her parents), but not the guts to live it out. Not even quite enough to get her out the door. (The Turkish visitor... Matthew her cousin...) I guess it is in Sybil the youngest where that mostly finds expression.

I want to congratulate you on this wonderful video! Incredible performances on such an amazing site. Everything ensambles, nothing is out of place. Thank you so much for posting it. It is always pleasant to see what life was like in those days when told like this excellent production.

@HenryDavidT I really like your 'take' on Sybil... ...About the middle sister, Edith (had to lookup the name), "wanting some attention', that becomes pretty obvious. -(cont.)

But to me it is Edith has the most traditional impulses. Seems to me she wants to carry on her parents' position in life, to marry into landed gentry, doesn't really look beyond that set of options (limited, poor girl!). Her betrayal of Mary, giving away her secret, could be reckoned as a desire to live out that (GIVEN) side of herself. - But nothing is obvious/overwritten in this series. One of the best things about it. Along w/, for me... Mary/Michele Dockery.

Hmmm so I've joined this discussion a few months late! After seeing a few episodes of this season I'm sure everyone agrees Mary is the most traditional one. Edith was driving a car and doing farm work! Sybil is the most modern and my favourite by far! I love how she's never been caught up with the whole entail situation and has always had her own thing going on. I really hope she gets with Branson soon! :D

I like Mary the best. I think she's actually a really nice person, she just hides it a bit! You especially see her be very nice in series 2! I also feel quite sorry for her in series 2 because of the whole thing with Mathew!!
