In the end, no matter how hard he tried to be pretend to be a good and righteous version of himself, he loves to kill. Because to kill, is as simple as pulling a trigger. He’s not a emperor trying to set an example to his people. He’s only a soldier in lust with his position of power. And keep in mind, this is a water down version of the real Goethe. As the real Goethe reveled and fully embraced his dark and twisted side to the extreme.

People would say that a film made by Nazis about the truth of the war would just be ludicrous propaganda and dismiss it as such. But a film made by jews about jewish conduct and tribulations in the war is somehow considered legitimate by the same people. That's how you know when you've been brainwashed.

The reason why Goeth (not Goethe, that’s someone completely different) shot the boy was because he had enough of the boy. Earlier, he had the expensive saddle on the ground and Goeth forgave him. After, the boy was trying in vain to clean the bathtub. He was just using soap and it wouldn’t work. Goeth forgave him and the boy left. Goeth was reflecting on this and noticed that the bathtub grime came off easily in his fingernail. In his mind, the boy purposely didn’t try hard and decided to shoot him to show everyone that he is still the man who wields all of the power.

""In reflecting on his decision to play Amon Göth, Fiennes has referred to it as a "no-brainer." The actor recalls, "I think there are moments you're lucky to have as an actor when you're asked to be part of something that feels like it's going to be quite momentous. I didn't even say yes. I didn't even need to say yes -- it was a given." Fiennes has also been on the record regarding the challenges inherent in bringing such a heinous man to life on-screen. Regarding the extensive research he undertook, as well as the process of physically transforming himself into a hateful glutton, the actor has stated, "I think there was a price to pay for this one. When you're investigating behavior that is that negative so intensely for three months, then you feel sort of peculiar because you might have at moments enjoyed it and at the same time you feel slightly soiled by it. It just throws up all kinds of question marks, about acting, about human behavior, about how all of that is probably a lot closer to the surface than we like to think."""

This is a great movie. Now let me clarify before people cry about it. Its done as if its really happening. The sadness, the anger and other emotions are real while watching this. The guy that plays Amon was brilliant.

The Russians beat the shit out of him severely before they hung him! In real life, he did not say “hail, Hitler” before he was hung! The Nazis screwed him in his mind and deserted him! He should’ve known what he was dumbass! Anyway, he was beaten to a pulp, then hung. They were very light on him in this movie so bad that when he was killed, he was about 135 pounds because the Russians starved him.he was a fat ass and I don’t know why in the movie he’s portrayed some fit heartthrob.? However, this movie is pure genius, regardless

It was pretty nice to the real guy playing by Ralph. The real dude was actually a fat German, Austrian Vienna, trash, wannabe, military, never fought in any battle before in his life, was part of some punk ass anti-Semitic group in Vienna in the 1930s, hence how he got connected with the Nazis.

I know he’s trying to trick Amon here, but I really think this is true. There is no greater feeling of power than when you are in a position of authority and you behave magnanimous and lordly, when you are merciful and you look out for people under you and they love you for it.

From Wikipedia:

On 13 September 1944, Göth was relieved of his position and charged by the SS with theft of Jewish property (which belonged to the state, according to Nazi regulations), failure to provide adequate food to the prisoners under his charge, violation of concentration camp regulations regarding the treatment and punishment of prisoners, and allowing unauthorised access to camp personnel records by prisoners and non-commissioned officers.

So... He was too cruel for the SS. Let that sink in.

Fiennes was much too young and pretty to play this role. We’re meant to be able to despise his character. But one close-up of those beautiful, boyish blue eyes and I was back to drooling over him. The real Goeth was not visually-irresistible at all. One can fully imagine that a monster lived behind that face. But Ralph. Oh Ralph!
