Which ExpressLRS Receiver Should I Buy? - FPV Questions

Got 3 happymodel AIO boards and one of them had a bad elrs receiver

I really love my Happymodel elrs dual for my lr build

I’m using BetaFPV Diversity with the Boxer and knock on wood. It’s been better than my EP one happy model now to 2 miles so far with no connection lost warnings. But if you get the better FPV diversity, you must flash it with the better FPV super D firmware.

If you try to flash it with the boxers, radiomaster diversity, it won’t work. So used to BetaFPV Super D firmware, and it will connect with your binding phrase with the boxer radio with built in ELRS.

The betafpv nano rx works great as long as it doesn't fail immediately. I have 15 of them, but did have 3 fail, but all three of those within the first few packs, stay away from the Lite RX, I had 3 out of 4 flat antenna that we're basically DOA, they do weird things and the ceramic towers always breaks off, I had two of those that I replaced the antenna with a piece of wire that still works, one was a lite and the other a meteor65 pro, then 2 others that just died, the Lite rx is terrible range too compared to the nano, it goes farther then i ever fly

I have betafpv, flywoo, iflight, happymodel i havent had a problem with any of them..
Id def get radiomaster

This is the reason not to use ELRS in ally quads. There is no trust in the manufacturers of the receivers. I hope this changes, I am willing to pay for quality. ELRS got the best features of the protocols just this reason alone holds me back from switching

Happymodel wouldn’t bind or wouldn’t respond to inputs after binding? I’ve had 6 ep1/ep2 and they all worked okay. However, 3 of them I had to toggle the model match on and off before they would respond to stick inputs. Binded okay though.

That’s why I stick to Xfire…

I've had 5 happymodel ep recievers and they all worked perfectly until 2 broke in crashes

Just bought a betafpv receiver together with my boxer as my first Elrs experience (switching from Flysky lol) I really hope for it to work properly

I just got a radiomaster RP3, building my first drone. How far can I expect the range to go with that?

A good company to bring up would be a newer smaller company called Gorilla Link! Pretty solid looking stuff. I may try a module from them

Radiomaster all the way

I got a betafpv lite rx v2 ceramic antenna on a freestyle 3" apex micro clone and it's doing really great in 100-200m range. I got BetaFPV nano rx on another apex micro 3" clone and I went 1km ish range without any problem and could probably go further but I haven't tried it since it's not a LR drone. I put a jumper aion nano on a 4" long range and I can't get further than 200m without having alarms ringing. Not sure what's wrong with it but I'm disappointed by jumper so far. All of them running elrs 3.0 btw

I have 5 betafpv lite receivers with the tower antennas and they have been flawless. Definitely my go to! I can fly from my office in my house to the back of the corn field behind me on 250mw without any warnings, it's probably more than half a mile. It blows my mind coming from frsky that pooped itself when you flew behind a tree. I am a believer in ELRS. Also the receiver is half a gram which is always nice. I no longer even have to think about my rx signal dropping in the environments that I fly in, which is a nice luxury.
