Amazing stuff. Watching this for my neurology exam. I think I've already understood most of brain imaging relevant for the exam but this is definitely helping me consolidate my knowledge. Next year I'll have radiology, I'll totally come back to your channel, you just gained a faithful new subscriber brother.

I'd like to practice interpreting images from real patients and present them on Pacsbin what you've done so well, while I failed to upload files to Pacsbin. May I ask how you did that?

It seems to me medicin can’t treat ischemic or hemorrhagic strokes, so diagnosis is all great but then only pretending you can effect the outcome. At least how I’m reading this right now. Endovascular therapy (physically removing a blood clot) seems to be the only therapy with some improved outcomes in disability. I think this only applies to geriatric patients however who have bad blood circulation in general, so that the unblocked arteries are not enough to perfuse the brain via the circle of Willis. Whereas young patients are often asymptomatic with a blocked artery due to say dissected artery, because by design the blood supply is more than sufficient still and the clotting serves to heal the dissected artery and is only transient.

Given that hemorrhagic stroke has a 4x higher fatality rate, and probably even higher when excluding the geriatric population, it seems prevention should focus on hemorrhagic stroke for non-geriatrics.

It seems to me given all this, warfarin blood thinners are risky.
The risk of hemorrhagic stroke is 3x more for people on warfarin.

White matter is 75% water, so 65% of the remaining 25% weight being fat must mean the other 35% non-fat must be significantly more dense than water to push the total to be more dense than water. Which I guess is possible since water isn’t particularly dense
