Your only expense isn't gas. Your per hour earnings are wrong. You have to subtract your mileage. Which is 65.5 ¢ a mile. That's your expenses.

I just started doing uber and the first day I worked 4 hours and made little money, 2nd day for 4 hours nothing, 3rd day for 5 hours nothing, so I just quit this shit.

How many MILES did you drive in those 25 hours? The reason is although you spent $75 for fuel what's the wear on the vehicle? Remember EVERYTHING wears out on a vehicle. Sure. Tires, brakes, engine wear, tranny wear it all adds up. Or put another way what's your MPG? Lets say you're paying $4/gal. that's say 20 gallons. What are you driving? The more economical the vehicle the better. Tell you what the best vehicle for this is probably the Kia Soul. Those vehicles have EASY egress because they're BIG on the inside and small on the outside. BUT they get about 28mpg city. they carry up to 4 people but 3 very comfortably.

You should remove this video. It is giving people the wrong information. They CANNOT make that much driving for Uber. The actual hourly rate they can profit while driving for Uber is under $2.50 an hour after all cost is calculated. I've been driving for 6 moths and am about $700 USD in the red after all cost are calculated... My personal 6-month insurance rate increased by more than $851 USD, gas costs, cleaning cost, return trip toll cost, vehicle maintenance, minimum self-employment tax rate of about 17%, this list goes on, but you get the point. I haven't made more than a $2.30 an hour profit while somehow always in the red at the end of the month. I wish I could figure out what I am missing! How can so many people afford doing this work while I have yet to see any profit and am always in the red?

This Uber has become one worst jobs ever , Uber is robbing the drivers taking 65% to 70% from drivers income, riders telling me he got charged $110 for 15 miles ride, I got out of that $110 $35 that’s it, all rides in San Francisco $5 $4 what a joke has this company has become.

Honestly doordash and ubereats pays way better and you dont have to deal with people riding in YOUR CAR.

1. I rent my car through them. 350 a week. I drive pretty much to pay for the car.
2. Rarely tipped except weekend nights. Weekend nights get weird. Usually drunk. Not exactly safe for a woman.
3. In Fresno, Ca I make 100.00 in 5 hours for about 9-10 rides. To make 1000 a week I pretty much have to drive 7 days a week. Deduct car charging, rental fees I may as well work fast food.
4. Most money is Friday/Saturday night. Again beware of bar crowd.
5. The ride fares for drivers are trash. They don’t just take 25% it’s more like 40% I’ve taken so called bonus rides that were same as a regular day same area. They play games lowering the rides.
6. I’m most likely about to quit.

I tried it to cover bills and have access to a car until I can afford one. But if I’m spending all my time driving it’s not worth it. I’m obligated to 30 rides. So my vision of a few distance rides from the Airport are tanked. I understand the requirement but if I want to make any real money I’d have to drive 12hrs a day. There’s just no way. It’s more of a headache than a help.

I wish Uber would start showing the destinations and distances of trips before drivers accept them here in NY. Lyft began doing this and I now only do Lyft. Although Uber might be a little more popular here and I might spent less time waiting for a ride, I'd rather be on Lyft and knowing the destination before accepting a ride.

Thanksgiving nor Christmas are not even in the top 30 of busy nights for Uber. This started off with a lie. You should have let an Uber driver do this.This video is crap and I have been driving since 2015.

I'M A UBER driver. Pay is extremilly LOW (5$/h), in some faires I started requesting mandatory TIPS, otherwise I cancel rides! I'm no one's SLAVE. And will not work for FREE.

Lyft didn't give me a ride for 11 hours because I was 1 ride away from a bonus. Extremely dishonest.

Your first mistake is only counting gas as your only expense. There’s car depreciation, your car loses value the more miles you drive, insurance, maintenance (you’ll be fixing parts, oil changes) much more often than a personal vehicle. Car washes, since you’ll need to clean your car much more often for passengers. So only counting gas was your first mistake.

I’ve been driving Uber full time since 2018. I find it funny when people post videos about what they made in a week. There are so many variables and expenses (not just gas) that most new drivers just don’t understand the cost of operating a business and the net income.

Yeah I don’t know what or where you’re driving maybe it’s busy. I’ve been driving with Uber now for about five years on and off and I’ve never had a $750 week even if I work seven days there’s no way plus you’re not taking into consideration the mileage.

Great video!! I just started doing uber in the new York westchester ave. I see that you can see where the passengers are going but my app that only happens sometimes. Most of the time I have no idea where my passenger is going. Do you know why o ly sometimes it would show? Thanks in advance

the best thing to do is to forbid this company by law. Just take a regular cab, ask for a lift, ride your bike or walk. Walking and biking is also very healthy and it makes you loose fat.

I've been an Uber driver for about 5 years now. The longest I ever had to wait for a ride was 5 minutes..LOL. I don't live in a huge city, either. I work about 6 hours a day and make about $120. On a Saturday night, I've made over $200 for about the same amount of time. I have a gas economical car (2018 Buick Encore) and I don't spend much on gas during the week. I like the Uber Pro thing. I'm a Platinum driver and I just got a Costco 1 year membership for free :-). Uber has given me a wonderful sense of job security and it's really stress free compared to how a paycheck job can be. You only earn however much you want to work. I like that freedom of flexibility, and being my own boss. I just recently went full-time, because I'd lost my job over an injury that took 8 months before I could work. Unfortunately, that job told me a few days before I was going to come back...ugh. But anyway, I'm grateful I had Uber to fall back on.

Well your calculations are off if you did. It figure in car damage. It add up and eventually drains all the money you make driving.;) I have don’t Uber for 3 year and very reluctant to do it again.

I’m about to start driving for Uber, I have heard in the past that it’s against policy to cary a firearm while driving for Uber but idk how they could possibly enforce that, I’m sure they’re not going to take care of my family if I were killed in a mugging or something. Uber's algo needs to be audited by independent investigators as they intentionally deprive drivers off requests 2 or 3 rides before bonuses. Very sus 😢 and cowardice

We demand a change of employees who work at night at this airport because they are not fit at all because they lack a lot of experience and are not fit in this work at work tonight at all.
