Good Times was about a black family living in the ghetto. Although they were poor they worked hard. They showed black people that it doesn’t matter where you live you still have values, integrity and respect for yourself. The parents instilled these values into their children. The love and respect that James and Florida had for one another was amazing. Black people need to stop destroying what our ancestors worked hard and gave their lives to overcome this very thing. This show will never be Good Times.

Renada Shepherd would never be close to a show like this about her people. Her Spanish folks or white folks she would not want this for them. but she would want this for us is weird and disingenuous for us. She looks at black ppl as less than in her mind. when she the one is less than a brain to help perpetuate stereos that make black folks look like animals. She needs to be cancelled.

To Jessica Tierra: Why would Norman Lear be turning in his grave when he's one of the executive producers and he signed off on it? This was in the making when he was still alive. Lear was good with this. This is how he sees us. If you know your history, you wouldn't have said that.

And, Cabrini Green no longer exists, as I'm sure this Renada Shepard very well knows. It was knocked down, and the area has been gentrified. The Second City Theater sits on the site where Cabrini Green was. I don't like projects, so why not build affordable housing for those same people instead of a multi-million-dollar-generating corporation where them folk not in the community get the money?

I'm also tired of Black people getting in line, waiting to be used as the cover for the coin yt people fling at them.
