Already brewing a Dark Urge Drow (Lolth) Ranger for a co-op game.

I started rather boring with a sweet-talking Human Fighter, but after a few hours I decided to play as a Drow (the bad kind) Ranger. After a few more hours I'm now a dual-wielding stalker, who can talk to animals and is also able to summon a cat. And I'm always the one starting a fight, putting a mark for extra damage on my enemy, making me pretty good in fights, too. I didn't even try pickpocketing yet. Shouldn't be to bad with Dex 17 either. I love my Drow Ranger so far.

Every time he said an ability wouldn't be useful in Baldur's Gate I thought "It isn't useful in the tabletop either" - the Ranger is the weakest class for a reason 😂

so let me get this sraight, the trope or ranger, skillfull bow user is worse at ranged combat than rogue which is known for stealing shit and stabbing people.

Trying to run a tanky Ranger Knight Beastmaster with Sword + Board and a Raven as companion.

My first RPG was Wizardry on an Apple IIe. Yes, I'm so old that Gandalf and me played together as children. I'm going to do a multiclass Drow Rogue/Thief - Ranger Gloomstalker build. The level distribution is dependent upon information I glean from the final release. I bought it in EA 1st day, played 40-45 hrs and put it aside to wait for the final product. Your video was quite concise and informative. Thank you for the effort you made to educate the D & D unwary wanting to play BG3.

Never played Dnd, only divinity original sin 1 and 2, so i'm a bit lost on classes and multiclassing haha. I was looking at monk's elemental subclass and wondered what you would probably multiclass it with, maybe warlock blade pact?

Other than that i would probably opt for a dual wield crit build that's not reliant on too much stealth gameplay, so probably Barbarian / fighter/ranger or rogue?

And a standard magical spell slinging build that would feel similar to a pyro/earth or Water / Lightning focused build.

Trying to figure out how I can make the biggest brawler I think ranger might be in the running because strength and dext proficiency would make them quite a good brawler? Good for jumping around the map, throwing things, pushing people etc. Better than barb I think, at least until barb uses rage. Rogue might be better with athletics expertise (+7 vs +5 at level 1) if you were to build a strength rogue, but restricted to light armor. There might be a spell to give bonus to strength rolls in paladin/cleric/druid/ranger? And I think going dwarf wouldn't be worth it for lower movement and height.

I'm surprised you didn't mention monk in the multiclass options, don't they get ac from wisdom which ranger uses?

Was wondering, if I multi-classed a Ranger with a Druid or Cleric, mainly for the extras spell slots, would that be viable? If so, do i pick the Ranger Class first or the Druid, Cleric. And how many levels of Druid Cleric if I am doing it mostly just for the extra spell slots? Obviously if one level is enough for the slots but at second or 3rd level I get something really good then I would do 2- 3 levels.

Will it be possible to play Dual Wield AND still use ranged?

Ive only played dnd a few times and i played as a half elf gloomstalker. I never got to finish that character. Thinking of picking it, however i would like a beast pet. Can multiclass with a gloomstalker and beast master?

I almost always do a bow build in RPGs (even if those RPGs don't favor bow builds...looking at you, Elden Ring). So, I think I'll be going gloomstalker/assassin and pew-pewing from the shadows.

Favorite ranger I ever seen played was an evil ranger who was basically Don Cheedle's Captain Planet.

Anyone familiar with 5e, would ranger/fighter be a good multiclass? Duel wielding of course. Archery rangers are so cliche, I'd love to be a duel wielding ranger (not on my 1st playthrough though, that will be druid). Just wondering if there would be any advantage to taking 2 fighter levels.

Beastmaster Ranger was my first character that I soloed early access with, it's pretty damn good, and well buffed in patch 9.

I think I'll do Barbarian-druid (BarBEARian spec) first and then Ranger-Rogue Gloomstalker-assassin
