Jeff, not only do you do an excellent job of describing what to do or how to do it you also do an excellent job of welding!! It's a real pleasure to watch your videos.
ОтветитьI just wish I could see your weld pool better for reference
ОтветитьHow many methods/processes/techniques are there to weld/solder aluminum? I know the most common one is AC TIG welding but I don't have that electrical current capability on my welding machine.
ОтветитьNot bad but this is way too wide, should've ran a two bead cap and I don't know any shop that let's you run two fillers at the same time. Could be the difference between countries tho.
ОтветитьChannel has really gone downhill. Why are you trying to show how to tig on pipe but get incomplete root penetration? Maybe you should go back 2 years and watch Bob Moffatt or Jody on weldingtipsandtricks. You are really doing a disservice to new welders who dont know any better.

That root is very rough . Will not pass in the field. Heat was way too cold to try and burn a 1/8 wire in a 3/32 gap
Ответитьwhat polarity is used on flux core wire no gas please?
ОтветитьA big help👍👍👍
ОтветитьWhy would u leave a landing on a tight root
ОтветитьUr the fill and cap guy on a job site someone else puts the root in on dayshift u steal his glory on nights to cap it
ОтветитьWhat happen to the bottom 🤔 part and suppose to have no landing and and bigger gap
ОтветитьAll you have to do is round the sharp edge of the cup by sanding, to avoid it snagging up on the Pipe. A tip an old timer gave me a long time ago.
ОтветитьEnybody spot the two miss edges on root?
ОтветитьRight on Jeff Ray...looking great on a Saturday afternoon...lots of great info you are sharing....thanks, and cheers, Paul
ОтветитьThe cap was good. The root was way too cold for the gap and land. Can't be doing that if you want to pass your weld test. The root as got to be good the whole way
ОтветитьNeed more heat? Why not crank the amps and just run your pedal man?
Ответить1/8” to a 5/32” gap turn the machine to 150 amps using pedal to control the heat and no landing and for the root I prefer a #6 cup, nice looking cap
ОтветитьCap looks good 👍. I think with a 1/8 gap no land your root would have penetrated as well.
ОтветитьWould it help to preheat the pipe?
Ответитьamater
Ответить🔥 🔥 🔥
ОтветитьI never liked that method of tacking pipe. Especially on small size pipe. I’ll do two, one @12 o clock and one @6 o clock
ОтветитьGreat video. I catch myself really bearing down on the cup and have to make a conscious effort not too.
ОтветитьJust curious, why would this be done with TIG vs. Stick?
