Why Fallkniven Knives? | Knife Talk #4

Great old video of you guys, I always enjoy watching what you have to say. Fallkniven knives are bloody amazing, you got me into this brand of knives.

Greetings gents, I just wanted to comment on this video. Years ago after extensive research and back and forth trying to justify the expense I bought the F1 g10 version. (I didn’t have a lot of money at the time, $99 was expensive for me) So being so excited when I finally received it, I ran out to use it. I gathered wood to carve and start a fire, pulled the knife out and stuck it into a stump to crouch down and get positioned and then pulled it out only for the tip to break off. I thought I may have hit a rock or something in the wood but no there was nothing. You could only imagine the disappointment. When I contacted Fallkniven they told me that the tip was not covered under the warranty due to misuse. It broke off about a 1/4 inch. This inspired me to make my own knife.

An important thing for me is the blade length (Max 12cm) as well as the steel. Because of legal EDC reasons in germany. You're doing great vids but you miss the length part in very freaking video. Please implement those specs. Very appreciate. Giving likes on every single video

Google says Falknieven is Swedish and made in Seki Japan. You failed to mention that.

Well lads, after contemplating buying an F1pro for the last 8 months I'm about to pull the trigger. Fallkniven offering the F1 PRO 10 series for less is the icing on the cake for me. Wish me luck once I'm bankrupt during the coronavirus pandemic!

S1 Pro, the handle is far too small. They screwed that knife up by trimming the tang and handle down too much, could have been a winner.

I hate you. I've gone and bought the F1 Pro, I have the S1 Pro, A1 Pro and Bowie MB on my shopping list. I also own the Bark River Crusader as well..… Great site so thank you...

I'm still waiting for that convex sharpening video ;) I can do it with my DC4 but I'm still too scared to do it on waterstones.

If the f1d is made out of cos than is it stainless?

I realize that different knives for different tasks....but if you could just pick one knife, would it be fallkniven or bark rover

And an A1- normal and a NL-5.
Great brand, great knives and just buy what you can afford!

Just sent my Falkniven tk2 in for re-grinding (sharpening). Got an email from them to say that because I shortened the (unnecessarily large) finger guard by 3mm, I had affected the "safety of the knife negatively and as a result, the knife is no longer covered by our warranty."
I'm pretty annoyed by that. I paid extra to buy from a premium retailer to ensure I had the 10 year warranty. It's especially difficult to accept seeing as many of their knives don't have finger guards... you know, for safety!

I'm gonna say, go ahead and skip Fallkniven knives.

I just got a regular S1. I´m a little bit underwhelmed with the sharpness out of the box. I havent tested it on any real tasks yet in case i want to return it, but it does´nt really cut paper very well and only shaves a little bit. Is that because of the edge geometry maybe? I´m not very good at sharpening (yet), and especially not convexed knives, so I was hoping that it would come very sharp out of the box. I tried stropping it, and it only improved slightly. Any thoughts?
