Wrong! Great milkshakes are made not necessarily with ice cream. Try condensed milk and ice cubes and a high powered blender! Frozen fruit or other ingredients would also give the right texture and avoid too much water!

I saw a movie made on the UK where the milkshakes were very thin. Looked like flavored milk. Awful.

McDonalds in the 1950’s here in the Los Angeles area of California had the best chocolate shakes! The only problem back them were those horrible wax coated paper straws they supplied you with to drink the shakes with. Those things would last for about two to three sips them collapse into complete, and utter flatness. I remember squeezing them back into shape ove,r and over without hardly any success whatsoever. Finally, one time I noticed my Dad would just chug a lug his shake so I just started doing the same from then till now, and it’s a lot more enjoyable that way too!!!

a pint of ice cream per shake is insane

The key is put the icecream in a safe bowl and microwave for 10-15 seconds so it's soft where the blender doesn't jam. Use as little milk as you can. 2 cups-ish maybe? But yes, whole milk. You aren't going healthy when making a shake and its a miniscule fat difference with a giant taste difference.
Try a taste when it's all blended if it's too thin add another scoop if it's too thick ur a pussy no its not lol

Ice cream with propylene glycol? Thats what Rite Aid ice cream has. Do not eat Rite Aid Ice cream.

You could make an adult milkshake. Add 1.5 ounce of rum and 1.5 ounce of Kahlúa to vanilla ice cream and milk blend and put some whip cream on top! Beware! lightweights will get a buzz from it!
