Why is dunking painful for NBA players?

i know how this feels, but from my experience it's worth it

They need to start dunking like ja Morant and Blake griffin . They barely ever touch the rim . They just jump high enough and through the ball in the net really hard .

😅 I thought this was just me. I'm not a lifelong basketball player but, due to my athleticism, I was able to dunk within a month of playing as an adult. However, my fingers got so sore from dunking, I had to accept having them bleed frequently. I thought maybe it was the rims cos basketballers seem to do it all the time.

we used to play at the elementary school where the rim is way lower and anyone can basically dunk.. feel good but after many games, dunks hurts.. one time i try to show off and hang on the rim too long and pull a muscle in my wrist.
