Learn to Play: Magic: the Gathering's The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-earth!

I'm glad people like these extended universes. But they disenfranchise older players. I'm quitting after 25 years of playing. Not looking forward to Marvel vs FF6, so I'm out.

No you can’t. I mean you can have up to 4 copies of 1 card (unless the text says otherwise) but you can’t play more than 1 legendary creature with the same name.

I've never seen the Aragon/Arwen deck beat the Sauron deck. There is definitely a power imbalance between the two.

I lost interest in Magic after the 10th edition. Now, I would have gotten back to it and buy LOTR had they not only made one f'ing ring card. I mean, we're all fans of LOTR. The idea that only one person in real life has that card is preposterous!

Nerd of the rings LooooooL, that made me laugh😂. Im new to this, i kind of just started collecting the MTG cards because of the beautiful artwork, i appreciate some good artwork and i want to buy all the visual/ art history books about it, and im glad im not the only one who appreciates the art that goes into them, but i just decided to buy some LOTRs packs recently, and i was just curious how something like that could fit in a card game lol, but it looks like you play them just like any other main mtg game, i thought it might have totally different rules than MTG, thats actually really neat, also makes it less complicated than it already seems for someone like me..

I just bought my starter kit. Never played MTG before but now with LOTR cards, yes please. And this is like the perfect video for me. A MTG expert and a Tolkien encyclopedia playing and explaining everything. Bravo guys 👏🏼

Im playing w these 2 decks and the mordor deck is just crazy overpowered. Gondor needs luck to have its synergy even work, getting the correct cards in the correct order to get benefits and even then, all food does is give u life, whereas the mordor deck can synergize as soon as u play ur cards, plus most if its card are on rate or even above, meaning u pay 4 mana u get a 4/4 and usually w an ability. You pay 2 mana and u get a 2/1 that makes a 1/1 when it dies, meaning its above rate. U get 3 mana for a 1/1 flyer that summons a 2/2. While for gondor u get 2 mana for a 1/1, or 3 mana for a 3/2 w no abilities, or a 2/3 that gives food token that ull need to pay to activate, or need to be lucky to have cards already in play to synergize w the food token, not to mention mordor having relatively higher numbers of removal that makes keeping thise enablers hard.

It’s only taken me 7 days to watch this fully watch this video.

More of a strategy thing: Rosie is extremely good and probably should’ve been kept around instead of watch dogs. Every time a token is created she places a +1/+1 token on another creature

When you have Fires of Mount Doom Can can you exile the top card card and play it more than once in a turn if you have the mana to do so or does the enchantment only work once a turn or become tapped? Thanks

Hello everyone I am brand new to MTG absolutely adore Lord of the rings I have purchased the Starter Kit can I just buy packs and add to these decks? How do I go about adding new cards to it I was looking at the booster 2 packs on Amazon.

Scrolled a bit too far down the comments and saw the disappointing but not unexpected complaints about how some of the characters are depicted.
Personally, if the Aragon doesn’t look like Viggo Mortensen, then it makes no difference to me how they look. I understand why they didn’t use the film cast likenesses though and that’s fine it’s not a deal breaker

Thanks for the video. My wife and I just got that starter set and learning Magic. Fun to see those cards being played. I have to say, the Mordor deck is much tougher than the Hobbit deck, seems very tough to beat the Mordor deck.

I've been playing Magic on and off for about seven years. For the last two or so I've really fallen out of love with mtg, but this set has brought me back, and I am thrilled to see you making so much content off of it!
