Thrust SCC - The Mission (Land Speed Record)

Hemper the Temper apparently owns no shirts.......

To realise that there are adults well into their mid 20's now who weren't even alive when the last land speed record was set is just astonishing. And whilst there have been other projects in the years since, there hasn't been a run from any of those projects to challenge Thrust's record in a quarter of a century. Not a single one.

If that doesn't speak of the enormity for what Thrust SSC did, i don't know what does.

the speed of sound doesnt need to be measured , it tells you with a boom , if it dont boom , its not the speed of sound , I am struggling to believe they dont understand this simple fact

they had a computer power supply that couldnt cope with temps above 100 and they knew it would be running in a desert. I have seen too many TV docs that are full of BS and this is no exception

Andy Green has got balls of steel, unbelievable achievement by him and the team and of course to Richard Noble for making it happen.

The two guys doing the FOD walk were great. 😂
